There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyder Throttle control

Hi Ryders

I am spinning my wheels trying to find a company that can supply me with a throttle contol for the Spyder. My hands get very numb and the ride becomes dangerous at times. If it means changing the grips that would be o/k as I would like to do that any way. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. As well, living in Canada, not all distributers will ship here.

Hope everyone has a great time in CA. Wish I could make it. :(
That would be so cool!

Are you wanting a simple lock or a sophisticated cruise control?? Several options available for either....

Throttle for spyder

Hey that looks nice and simple. Does it work well ?

My husband, bjt has one like ATADude's, NMN sells another one that looks a little different and is still simple, many spyderlovers and myself included have the Throttlemeister, which I absolutely love. I wouldn't want to cruise for long periods of time without it. There are choices out there. They even have full blown cruise control if you want to spend the cash. Do a search here in the spyderlover search section and you will find all sorts of info. Enjoy your ride and have fun.

:agree: Love the throttlemeister!

Plenty of options out there for you - from a simple throttle lock, a throttlemeister with weighted ends, to a full electronic cruise control as many installed.

Changing to the Kuryakyn ISO grips with throttle boss solved most of my hand cramping but i recently added This so now i can take my hand away completely if needed to relax my arms and such.

Cruise Control

I have a cruise control from McCruise for my Spyder. It is expensive but fabulous. It works just like the cruise control on your car. You set the speed and it keeps that speed up hills and down, so I can take my hand completely off the throttle if I want to, or just let it lightly rest there. McCruise is from Australia. The install directions were very complete, and they were in contact with us when we needed help. Wonderful customer service. It is so easy to use. It's instinctive for me to touch the brake to disengage it so it is very safe. They are at www.mccruise.com.

Don't forget that NoMagicNeon has a throttle lock/cruise available, too, and I'm pretty sure they ship to Canada.

I agree that your option is the best but it is very expensive...

For most of us poor folk, the throttlemeister is a good mechanical throttle lock that gives the right hand a nice break while on long rides...

Spyder Throttle Control

Had the same problem and got the statndard weight Throttlemeister system. Just put it on and have taken one ride and it seems like it'll work and allow me to periodically shake out my right hand. Activating it while riding will take some getting use to however. You've got to use your right hand to twist the Throttlemeister to on at whatever speed you want while keeping the throttle steady. Using my "pinkie" to do that seemed to work; it'll just take practice in executing the procedure.

It is quite easy...just turn the TM with your pinkie, like you said, while you turn the throttle...to release, just roll the other way.

I find it to be smooth and easy...in addition, the vibration is reduced a good amount due to the weight of the TM...

Motor Cycle Cruise Control

Everyone's given good advice. Whether it's an actual cruise control, a cramp buster, throttle lock, or the throttle meister...the decision is a personal one. I like Laughing Heart have the actual cruise control from Motor Cycle Cruise Controls in Australia. Yes it is expensive, but for me it's what works the best. I tried all of the aforementioned assists and none of them benefited my numb throttle hand. Laughing Heart is right :agree:, the product is great and their customer service is fantastic...Good Luck in your search...Joan
