• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Is it just me or do these things take forever and a year to get fixed. i have had my spyder since june 1st and so far i have had 30 days in the shop. 14 days for 600 mile maint, and 14 days now for 3k oil change and fixing my stuck parking brake. Just wondering if this is normal i love to ride but have missed alot of time this year. I live in pittsburgh pa and have tried 2 different dealerships so far... just wondering if this is something normal. Thank you:gaah:

It sounds like your dealer has a real problem---Those down days for maintenance is totally out of reason.nojoke

tell me about it... the real problem is ive tried 2 dealers and they are each an 45 to 1 15 min away..... i dont know what else to do.... im kinda getting sick of all my buddys getting their r1s and gsxr600's maint. within a day and mine takes 2 weeks. i love my spyder but im starting to hate the dealerships... i took it there on the 18th and they never had the courtesy to even call me and give me an update on what was going on. all i got today was we'll probably be calling you on tuesday... which im not counting on because when i dropped it off they said " should be done in a few days " a few to me in like 5-7 days max not 14... i guess being 22 years old they just think im some punk...

also how hard is the oil to change myself given that im partially handicapped in one arm... i can change the oil in a car but its a task, but i can sure bet it wont take me more then a day.... kinda wishing i would have just said forget the parking brake and took it there in the winter to fix

Yeah, I got to agree with above folks, your dealer has some serious issues they need to take care of. I recently had my 600 mile service completed and it took about 3 hours or so. Maybe you need to call some folks and raise a little cain.

:agree: I waited for our Spyder during the 600 mile check. Takes 2-3 hours at the most. I only had to give the dealer a couple days notice to make the appointment. During busy times it may take longer notice. A good dealer will order the parts then (remind them), or have them in stock. Did you call and make an appointment first, or just drop it off? Only reason I could see for this kind of delay would be if they found some warranty issue that required them to get parts...and the parts were backordered.

600 mile service took 3 hours. Service scheduled 4 days in advance. 3,000 mile service I did myself. 3 hours. 6,000 mile service took 5 hours, but in and out same day. Appointment made 4 days in advance. Your dealer is really doing you wrong.

:mad:ill put the first dealer in front of the bus Mosites motorsports in Irwin, PA. Made my appt 9 days ahead of time ( because they were backed up). Dropped my bike off there the day before so they could start working on it and didnt have to wait for it to be dropped off and didnt put them behind schedule. first 7 days it just sat there nothing done to it. called in and was firm and reasonable had the bike back on day 11 sorry it wasnt 14 days now that i think about it. When i got there to pick it up they guy says they told you what was wrong with it right.... i said I never got a call about anything i had to call you guys. He explained the brake diaphram cap was leaking but i could take the bike and there were 2 caps each 12 dollars..... then i said should that be underwarranty... he corrected himself and said hmmm maybe but they are only 12 dollars a peice. i was just like WOW. They were to call when the caps came in called back month later, no caps, called back 2 months later the caps got there they forgot to call me.(sarcastic clap).... needless to say never went there again

2nd dealer drove even further to because i wanted better service. dropped it off on the 18th ( friday ), didnt hear anything from them by the next friday so i called in and stated that the diaphram caps they didnt need to worry about becuase another dealership has them and i have to go there to get them installed. he said ok and well call you when its done. Called today on the 1st and the guy said were waiting on a call back from brp, i said for what. he stated for the warrranty claim about the other dealership made for the caps, so i told him again the caps are at the other dealer and they are just waitting for me to take the bike down there but i dont want to give it to them for a week to get that done, thats why i went to them (2nd dealership) to get my service and would deal with the caps later... but now im sitting 2 weeks no bike. its getting cold in pa and we have sporatic 60 degree days and i cant ride......... my luck just cant get any better.

i used to be worried about my bike going up in flames like others..... but at this point, im thinking it might not be that bad

My dealer never kept me waiting - it was in and out. But now HDX does all the stuff to it - trouble shooting and now mostly all the maintenance but in the beginning when it went to the dealer, we never had to wait. Even the updates- no waiting at all. I like my dealer.

I would suggest making a firm appointment time and date, getting a commitment as to how many hours it will take and then waiting or tell them you'll be back in whatever number of hours that they've quoted. This type of dealership needs firm but aggressive handling. Don't let them put you off that they need it overnight, regular services don't take that long.:gaah:
Good luck
