• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Software Updates

How do I:
-identify the software running on my 2014 RTS?
-find the latest version of software?
-update my roadster software?

Check with a dealer as I don’t think there is any kind of software up for the earlier than 2018 bike’s.

Oh not true! There was an "update" applied to my 2015 at the first service and it messed up how the byke behaves and has really pissed me off that I wasn't informed and given the option to decline it.... Now the byke is so sensitive to how far the bars are turned that it applies the nanny in nearly every corner if I'm going over 35mph!!!

I believe there are updates to the ECU/bike system, but when we talk about “software” updates we’re talking about the new dash software on the 2018’s.

Um, the OP states he has a 2014. Didn't think they had a dash that gets software updates separately.... :dontknow:

The OP does not specify what software (firmware) he is referring to. Every smart module on the Spyder, there are several, have their own firmware. Occasionally BRP will update the firmware to correct a problem. If it is for safety reasons you will get recall notice letter. If it is a warranty campaign you may get a letter for that if deemed important enough. Most likely they expect you to bring it to the dealer from time to time and get it updated then. The reality is that the module firmware rarely ever changes. I don't recall my 13 STL ever having an update in the 5 yrs I owned it.

The firmware level for each of the modules can only be checked when plugged into a laptop and read by BUDS. The only exception to that is the dash firmware on the 2018 models with premium display.
