I went for a nice 3 hour ride after work yesterday. Headed down to Golden Gate Canyon and took it up to peak to peak highway and rode that all the way back to highway 7 down Lyons. Nice drive except for the new chip seal going down in between Nederland and the end of peak to peak highway. I was lucky and didn't get any rocks in the belt, but the loose gravel felt so weird to drive on that I actually pulled over once to check that my back tire wasn't going flat.
Near Ward (thankfully before the chip seal section) someone made a left turn out of their driveway right in front of me. I had to stand on the brake to avoid hitting them. I was amazed and really pleased at how the spyder reacted. I stayed straight, it stopped quickly, and I didn't feel any vibration like I'm used to with anti-lock brakes. Thanks BRP! If I'd been on 2 wheels, I would probably have skidded sideways and/or dumped it (and/or hit the guy).
Now about the nanny... Later that night we went back out, 2 up. I took a corner pretty fast and neither of us leaned into it. I think I saw the left front wheel come up farther than I'm used to but it was so quick that I wouldn't swear that I really saw it. The spyder lost power for those few seconds and I let off the throttle and then when I re-engaged the throttle, I had full power again. Was this the nanny talking to me or something else?
