• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RTL gas mileage history

Just wondering if anyone else has tracked their mileage as I have and what the results were.
Ours is a 2014 RTL with 56,000 plus miles on it now. I have always documented mileage numbers, but this time I have calculated costs per mile based on "fluxuating" gas prices also.
My data numbers after 10 fillups over the last 2 months are as follows:

Miles run: 1674
Gallons used: 42.12 (99% of the time - regular grade (97?)
$ total for fuel: $205.69
Avg MPG: 39.7
Avg (fuel cost) per mile: $0.12. (ranged $.10 - $.14)
Gas price range over this period: $4.30 to $5.50.

Thanks for this info ..... remember when it was about $2.00 per gal. ..... back in the " old days " .... like in Dec. of 2019 :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:...... Mike :thumbup:

Yup, I use an app on my iPhone called “roadtrip” and have for the past 7 years. I have it set for riding in Canada. It tracks distance travelled, cost per km, mpg (yes, I still think in those terms, however I think in Imperial gallon as opposed to US gallon ((160 oz. vs 128 oz.))). On my last fill, it cost me 15.7 cents per km. (2.407 per liter). Great app for the iPhone. Don’t know if it’s available for an anderoid.

I just completed a 2,800 mile round trip from Houston to Scottsdale and vicinity and averaged 39.2 mpg on my 2016 RT. I bought my trike two years ago with 2,900 miles on it and now have about 24,000 miles recorded. Gas for premium ranged from $3.36 to $4.67 per gallons on the trip. Two years ago I did a 3,200 mile trip out west and averaged around 38 mpg. I do not remember the fuel costs.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong. My 2020 RTL always gets 32 to 33 mpg. Much of my riding is on two lane roads at 60 to 65 mph. Interstate driving at 70 to 75 drops the mileage 1 or 2 mpg. It has a stage 2 tune but that made no difference in mileage, but a world of difference in the way it performs. I don't accelerate hard, usually shifting in the 4 to 5k rpm range.
I think I got one that just doesn't get good fuel mileage.
P. S. All riding is one up.

Try shifting in the 3000 rpm range. The 998 engine wanted 4-5k rpms. The 1330 brings on the torque much lower. I have the stage 1 tune, shift at 3k, and average 38 mpg. Doesn't matter if by myself, two up, or pulling a trailer. A member of our riding group refuses to use 6th gear unless on the interstate, and we all have to stop so he can refuel like the 998's.

:agree: x2. 3500 rpms is the "sweet spot" on our f3l's. We always keep the rev's in the 3.5 to 4K range unless we are doing highway speeds. 55-60 in sixth will run around 3500 rpms. Faster, and the rpms will rise of course.
