• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder license plate collector swap

Curious..!!

For what.??....got some old clutch plates I'll swap you....:roflblack::roflblack: Sorry but all my plates went with the bikes and some states make you give them back..

I've had the same plate for years, just keep swapping it to the new bikes. Also in MA the only way to cancel your insurance ( apart from not paying of course) is to hand the plate back. Registration is proof of insurance.

If you're really interested in old plates I can go around the neighborhood after dark with a screwdriver :roflblack:

harry

We're supposed to turn ours in here as well... :dontknow:
But it'd be really cool to see what old plates you find!
Good Luck!

Neibohood swap

Thanks Bro you'd do that for me. ;) :roflblack::roflblack:

Too bad in mn we get to keep the old plates.

How'd they ever sneak that one past the censors?
???? I am confused by your comment ????

We use prison labor to make Ohio license plates. If the prisoners saw nothing wrong with this plate, why are you questioning their expertise in the manufacturing of license plates?

Clearly, there is nothing wrong with the letters S, H and T and the number 1. Not even a word.

I suspect you are using the part of the brain called the VISUAL CORTEX which is believed to contribute to a person's imagination.

My dear friend Bob - you are imagining something that is not there! Have you seen a doctor?

P.S. The plate is in the bag. It was never seen on the road!

Believe me; I saw the "one"...
I'm just surprised that Ohio would let that plate get past anybody in a position to quash it.
It wouldn't have made the cut here in New York... They've got a list of "Do NOT try this!", that'd make your head spin! nojoke

This plate was sold in 2003 and was part of a regular production run. It is not a special plate and didn't come under special scrutiny. Had this plate been ordered as a "special" plate, there would have been an application process as well as a review BEFORE the plate was made.

If you look at the plate construction, you will notice these are stamped numbers. A prisoner sits in front of a stamping machine and replaces the last character until he moves through the entire sequence. This way they can make 35 plates before switching the 2nd character.

Also imagine, you are doing this hours each day, next to similar machines punching out other plates (the noise is literally deafening) and you are on plate SH1S and then SH1T comes up! Do you notice? Are you even paying attention? Or perhaps you are plan dumb and that is why you are in prison to begin with?

SH1A through SH1Z was manufactured. When they finish running through all 26 letters, plus 1 through 9 (SH11, SH12, etc.) they change the second character from the right, i.e. the 1 becomes a 2 and they start all over: 1- 9 and A to Z). SPECIAL NOTE: They try to avoid using the letter O since it can be easily confused with the number 0.

Just like any field of endeavor, maybe there are more safeguards in place today to avoid this issue!

In Kansas, the plate stays with the seller of the vehicle. It can be transferred to another vehicle when it's registered, or turned back in to the county for a prorated refund.

Magically, I "loose" any plate I want to keep. If it is during your regular renewal period, they do not even charge for a lost plate.

OOPS! I mean - I have heard of people doing that, but would never do it myself!
