• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Issue

I'm posting for a friend who has a 2009 Spyder RS Phamtom. The problem is the Check DPS Limp Mode keeps coming on intermittingly. He already had it to the Dealer, but they can't find anything wrong even when it went to limp mode for them. It did it 4 times in less than 100 miles today. Wait a couple of minuter and it clears the fault and starts up and runs fine until the next time. On the last time it went into limp mode today the DPS and ABS failure codes came up. Waited 2 minuter and rode it on home.
If anybody has any ideas or knows how to fix this issue would she appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance.

Check battery connections, check oil level per the manual, check brake fluid level.

Any or all of these conditions will cause you to get the dreaded orange screen. I am sure others will also have some good ideas where to start.

Sorry to hear that the dealer could not figure it out. :dontknow:

:agree:
Additionally; is he riding with his foot on the brake pedal? That can really tie Nanny's shorts in a knot...

If the two are related, it would be a tired battery or bad connection, or riding the brake, as said. If separate issues, the DPS problem is most likely a bad battery (do a load test), a loose battery connection, or a loose front (most likely) or rear frame ground. The DPS pulls the most alectrical power of anything on the Spyder but the starter. If you get a DPS warning when turning, it usually indicates low voltage to the unit, from any of the reasons above. If you see the warning when you hit a bump, it is mostly likely a loose connection.
