There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyder insurance table

seaweed

Member
Since my last thread was hijacked by many folks that wanted to complain, state, (or brag) about their insurance cost for their Spyders,
I thought I would start a table of costs that I gleaned from some of the followup posts. If anyone wants to chime in by posting their info or updates
I will update the table as time permits.
Information that will help clarify the rate such as multi-vehicle, age, gender, driving record, claims record, claims service (good/bad), and type
of insurance will be put in the "Notes" section. Please do not post anything that you may not feel c
omfortable sharing.

 I really hate to rain on your Parade...
But you won't gather anything useful with this exercise...
Rates are affected by:
Where you live
Age
Marital Status
Years of experience
Driving record
The bike that you own
The existence or absence of a safety course
Often; if you own a home
The exact coverages that you select
Your State's laws regarding insurance coverages
YOUR CREDIT REPORT

There's just too many variables... :banghead:

Thanks Bob I was just going to post the same thing. If all went in with the same criteria those numbers would be pretty much the same. Just want to add multiple vehicles with the same company also makes a difference. Also an umbrella policy dictates how much coverage you must carry on each.

Sorry...

Id like to point out joke i think is hidden in the state farm catch phrase; "get to a better state". Think is quite literal considering my state's amounts of DUI violators & uninsured motorist is insane! & fact most companies can not even quote you unless you provide a address (danger zone info). & such

All your quotes mean nothing until you add the coverage you have for the amount. Read Bob's post again! Everyone has different coverage. Surely this group is smarter than a fifth grader!

Stop bragging about what your quote for insurance is till you tell us what all is covered and what you have to pay for each. I know some of these are Liability only required by most states although the amount may vary. Don't compare Apples and Oranges.

My Advice:
Find yourself an Agent who also rides, and knows motorcycles...
I tried that, but unfortunately the agent I "found" does not write coverage in Pennsylvania. ;)

All the advice in this thread about how rates are configured are true of course. But that said, I switched from Progressive to Dairyland this year and literally cut my premium in half for the very same coverages, even though I had a multi-policy discount with Progressive. It really does pay to shop, or have an agent that you trust do it for you.

seaweed,
I am in Pa not Ga,might make a difference.Have full coverage.SE Pa between Phila and Lancaster.I think the closer to big cities means higher rates.

A little information is better than no information

Vent on Okay naysayers we know there a lot of factors in determining insurance rates (costs) like the ones you have mentioned besides others such as; do you live on the east side of town vs the west side of town, live in upper new York vs the rest of the state, live on the east slope of Colorado vs the west slope of Colorado, or even with some insurance companies if you are registered as a Republican or as a Democrat. I believe that SpyderLovers are smarter than a fifth grader, that is why they ride a Spyder. vent off

The "Notes" was included in the table to help include some of the possible contributing factors in insurance rates. I did not put in info under the "Notes" as I ran out of time. I will go back and add what information that I can. I have edited original post to hopefully add to the post so that this thread will be useful.

You may belittle me for wanting to help others BUT not not belittle other SpyderLovers for wanting to pass on information that may be useful or to SpyderLovers that might find some of the information helpful to them. vent off

I'm not belittling you...But as an Insurance Professional, with over 38 years of experience in this field; I'm just laying out some facts that an end-product user may not be aware of...

If you want to REALLY help your fellow SpyderLovers: talk about claims servicing. If you get your insurance for Free, and every claim is a nightmare: what have you saved? :dontknow:

Chill out seaweed, no one was picking on or belittling you, just telling you some variables and options.

Cruzr Joe

P.S. If and when we do decide to pick on you, you will know it. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: (just kidding ........................ Maybe)

California - Geico -- apparently more than some, less than others. As stated previously, too many variables to be considered. It's all a giant rip-off though ..... IMHO

No belittling meant. Besides how can I belittle a guy from Ft. Lupton, the town my Mother was born in. (Lydia Betz) On the fact that Spyderlovers are smarter than a fifth grader because they ride a Spyder, I'm not so sure of. Don't bet against the Fifth Graders. Just watch Jeff Foxworthy's program sometime. Don't take any of this or any forum so seriously. Stay on the "Lite side of Life".

As Bob pointed out it is nearly impossible to compare policies without all the particulars. Bob is a long time owner of an insurance business. I own numerous vehicles of all sorts, homes, properties, hangers and carry a very large umbrella policy to protect my assets. I have quite a bit of knowledge in this area (but never enough) and speak from personal experience. I hate it but you have to have.
