• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gday All,
Recently purchased the above and it came with an "improved spring" separate to the actual unit. There is nothing with the unit to say that you should change to the improved spring. Is it ok to just fit it up as is or should the improved spring be fitted prior to installation or alternatively keep the improved spring up the sleeve and use at a later date if the allready fitted spring fails. Advice is appreciated.

You can, but my question is for what you paid for it the upgraded spring should have already been on it.

:agree: & additional tasks/tricks : not loosing the part for unknown timeframe, springs usually need som tension on them or they loose shape & functional use, changing said spring DIY without loosing a finger or more:lecturef_smilie::gaah: my .02

Matter of fact there is. Spyderextras finally got back to me and gave no explanation other than they stated that they believed that the original spring which has a straight edge catch point has a tendancy to break and the updated spring with a hook end on it was the way forward. No explanation that the original spring is ok till it breaks or anything that gave any real guidance as a customer. So based on the above I changed the spring out anyway - took about two minutes to change it, very simple to do. Updated spring does look more sturdy so time will tell.
thanks for the replies.

cheers
Robby
