There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyder Confort seats

I have a 2013 R/T and have a line on a Can Am comfort seat at a good price. Is the upgrade from the stock seat worth it? The aftermarket seats are Very expensive!!

Hard to say..!!

everyone's tush is different. Comfortwise is the hard part but you do get more room to scoot up or slide back. Not familiar with the RT seats but on the RS it also made the passenger more comfortable. If you can find a ryder with one and they let you sit on it you can get a better idea.... If it is a good deal it is worth it...in my opinion...

I bought mine for the very reason that it let me scoot back, but it does give less room for the passenger. I may have to rethink this as my Grandaughters get older and bigger, but for now like mine just fine:D. My main concern was my knees not my tush, and I got what I wanted. I also have a sheepskin cover.

Been riding my comfort seat for three months. It has really helped. I don't get the knee and hip pain I had with the stock seat and the "boys" are a lot more comfortable. I'm 5' 7" if that helps.

:agree: and the reason I sold it -not enough room for the passanger (me at times). I think the standard seat is as comfortable on the tush, but not so much for the knees.

I have put BRP Comfort seats on two of my :spyder2:'s (2009 & 2011). I believe they are an improvement over the OEM seat.

EDIT: I will add that my comments are made from a driver only standpoint. The seat sets you back and that would steal room from the passenger. Not a problem if the passenger is thin and trim. There does appear to be more tush support with the Comfort seat.

Still debating if I need to change seats on the 2014 OEM. Have a Corbin and backrest on the shelf though.

Have you and your main passenger taken the time to sit on a comfort seat-equipped bike? :dontknow:
You get more legroom; they get less room for everyting... It doesn't always work out as well as you might have hoped for... :yikes:

How did you like the Corbin? If it's on the shelf, not that much I guess? I've had two on motorcycles over the years and liked them very much. Stock seat on the Spyder.....not sure if I like it.....

The Corbin seat is a love/hate relationship for most that have commented on them. Actually, I have over 50,000 seat miles on the two Corbin seats I owned. 23,500 on my old 2008 GS and 36,500 on the 2010 that I traded for the 2014.

The Corbin seat is "hard" compared to the Comfort seat. It gives a lot of support. I used mine in conjunction with a sheepskin/gel pad or an Airhawk.

My Corbin from the 2010 did not sell, so I decided to hang on to it. I am finding the OEM on the 2014 (Utopia back rest added) seems to be giving me a bit less pain since I now have 4000 miles on it. I will most likely make a final decision on seat change over when I put the 2014 to bed for the season.

I guess I want to make sure that I get my $250 worth out of the Utiopia this go around. :roflblack::roflblack:

Comfort seat is great for the knees and terrible to ride on

I bought my RT, LTD about 2.5 months ago and ordered it with a comfort seat and, after putting 6,000 miles on it, I regret it everyday. It was a colossal waste of money. The seat is great for the extra leg room so it's great for my knees and increases my riding time that way. However, it's very hot and uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time! after 15 minutes I start to feel significant heat and hot spots in the scrotum area as well as numbness in the butt and after 30 minutes it's so bad I have to get off and don't want to get back on. It's a really uncomfortable seat! I'm trying different seat pads now and the result are that gel helps with the heat from the seat but it heats up on it's own and makes me sweat. Memory foam becomes like a rock after a few weeks and the combo seats of gel/memory foam suffer the problems inherent in both. I'm trying an Airhawk now and it's working much better and I still may try a sheepskin cover over it. I ride on average 50-100 miles or more at a clip. So, I don't know if the aftermarket seats are any better, but I wouldn't buy the BRP seat again.
