• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder and Skidoo - Parts and Service

I have seen several persons noting that they have limited to no availability of a Spyder dealer in their area. I live in Manitoba (Canada) and there is only one Spyder here. Next door, in Saskatchewan, there are only two. Between Winnipeg (where I live) and Toronto, Ontario there are no Spyder dealers. Obviously I and others have concerns about parts and/or service availability. That means hundreds and thousands of kilometers between BRP Spyder "people".

Now for the good news! Remember that BRP also makes Skidoo snowmobiles. In Manitoba there are many. Same with Saskatchewan and plenty between here and Toronto. South of the border, in North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana as examples, there are many Skidoo dealers all over the place.

So ... if you're out on the road and something happens, don't just check for Spyder dealers to help you out. Also look to see where the nearest Skidoo dealer is. You can definitely get parts, and we all know that the Service Techs at these shops know about Rotax engines and will also have access to service tips/tricks directly from BRP. The Skidoo's have the BUDS system as well.

Just a thought from an olden guy.

4 miles

i have a BRP SKI-DOO/JET-SKI/QUAD dealer 4 miles from me which does NOT sell SPYD3R's.... i spoke with the owner and service manager, and was told they aren't allowed to sell or service the SPYD3R's because they are situated too close to another BRP dealer that does sell/service the SPYD3R's.... hopefully this practice doesn't apply to all BRP dealers....
LUCKLY my SPYD3R dealer is only 10 miles from me....

From BRP dealer "protection" that probably makes sense, I suppose. I was thinking more of the people like myself who have no option except hundreds of miles of separation.

Thanks for this info!
But I do have a question: Have you talked with your Ski Doo Dealer about parts and service? :dontknow:

Oh my! MurrayBrown you should try a little bit harder next time! There is a dealer in Thunderbay, Sudbury, Powwason and Barrie. And they are all mostly on the highway or just a few minutes off the main drag. And that sir is just the ones that I know about without even looking. If you were driving towards Ottawa there is even more. Good luck in your travels.

Parts = no problem. Service = depends on the dealership and whether they want to tackle a Spyder or not. On my smartphone I have a PDF document which is the Spyder Maintenance Manual.
