There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Sounds too good to be right - gas usage/range

gkamer

Sadly passed away, December '23.
This sounds too good to be right. I just checked the two fill up’s for my Ryker so far in April. According to my gas log app, I was getting 179 miles per tank full. First fill up got me 5.5 gallons, for 32.9 mpg. The second fill up got me 5.4 gallons, for 32.7 mpg. I’m pretty happy with that.

My o6 electraglide got 35 mpg, 19 road king gets 45. Im very happy about that. I was afraid to ask what the Spyder was going to get.
But this hobby isn't about saving fuel, it's the smiles per gallon that count.

Our 2014 RTL Spyder has been getting consistently 40+ MPG on regular gas since 2020. Was getting in the mid 30s on High test.

For the RYKER, that sounds like good mileage. You guy and gals can't seem to get off the throttle because your just having to much fun.

I have NO experience with a Ryker, but I would only be happy with that number if I was absolutely riding the snot out of it.

Something in my mind says that it should be getting closer to 40, but as I said, I have NO experience with one. :dontknow:

.

I get right at 33 mpg all-around riding in Eco mode. I don't see a need to switch out of Eco mode because I can break the rear tire loose at a twist of the throttle if I want and still have plenty of get up and go. I've tried the sport and rally modes, but don't see the need for street cruising. I only run 91 octane or better fuel too.

To me anything in the 30's is great mileage for the Rykers. About the best that I'm getting now is an average of about 27 to 28 MPG combination urban/highway riding. I'd be real happy if I could get the 32 that Gkamer is getting. I'm willing to accept my low mileage because the fun factor with these machines make it worth it to me. Now I'm starting to wonder though how much the luggage may be effecting my mileage seeing other getting in the low to mid 30's. I live in a pretty dense urban area with lots of stop & go traffic just to get out of the city, so I know thats having an effect too.

Bare in mind, you will get the best mileage and most power running the lowest Octane fuel with out pinging or knocking (pre ignition or detonation). Premium is not a "better" fuel Than regular, it basically formulated to burn slower and is harder to ignite. No need to waste your hard earned $$ when you don't need it. You are fooling yourself if you run premium because you mistakenly think it's "better".

I don’t necessarily think premium is ‘better’, but I do think the engineers that designed it understand what it needs better than I do. Following the manufacturers recommendation might cost me $2 a fill-up, but the smiles are still worth it.

Of course, :f_spider: Your Mileage May Vary :f_spider:
