• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Soon to be new owner

:agree:
The 2012 RT was the best of the 998-equipped machines... She'll love it! :2thumbs:
:welcome:

:agree:. I have a 2012 RT Limited and have had no issues since i bought it, almost a year ago. I think it is a good buy if the price is right and the service has been kept up to date.

I agree with all above, but...

...it is a standard transmission and not the 'semi-auto' model. I say that because when the wife and I test rode our first Spyders, she hated the standard transmission (she had two bikes prior with standard). My bother also test rode a standard transmission (he is on his 2nd Limited RT with 'semi-auto' - he as well did not care for that transmission - brother is 75 and his first motorcycle he owned he was 12!! Check it out - might not be an issue with you guys.

I have already noticed a couple of things I am going to have to research...first will be how to operate all of the various functions...second will be to figure out why Trip Meter "B" seems to be stuck on 58 miles !!

Noob question here: Is that the comfort seat? I'm thinking it is....need to know, as the wife wants a backrest for it, and I wanna make sure I order the correct one.

If you push the "Mode" button, it'll get you to the trip odometer screen...
But since it's April, and I've not been on mine since December; I'm a bit rusty right now... :opps:

My first :spyder2: was a 2012RTS-SE5 it was Awesome Machine, I had no issues. I agree the 2012 was an excellent year for 2012RTS-SE5, and the 998 engine.

I took a demo ride on the 2014RTS-SE6 in April ( @ Spyderfest) in July of 2014 I bought a 2014RTS-SE6 Cognac, because of the newer engine,( 1330 ACE) fewer trips to the dealerships, gas mileage, lower maint. higher torque, smoother ride, less fill-ups, quiter engine, 1200-W Alternator, etc. I have 3006 miles on my 2014RTS-SE6. Also planning on putting on more miles this riding season. I know that is off the topic sorry! Deanna

I drive a 2013FJR and the wife drives a 2012RT limited. We have had no problems with either bike. She got the RT for the same reason did not like being on the back of the FJR nor was she comfortable on her Buell.
She is very happy with the RT and is even talking about doing extended rides for vacation.
Enjoy both the bikes

I ride a Vulcan Voyager and my wife rides the 2012 RT, and sometimes I get to ride the RT. Coming up on 21,000 miles. Keep your RPMs up!
