• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
My son happens to live in a development where they are constructing lots of new homes .... so they have a very large ( 30 ft ) dumpster for construction materials. I have visited it in the past and retrieved some 2x4's, plyscord etc..... Well today I hit the Mother Load :clap:..... I won't list every thing I found but I did get 3 - 4x8 sheets of cabinet grade 3/4 inch plywood ... on each side is Birch veneer , this stuff cost around $ 75 + a sheet, and it's perfect ... also 1/4in plywood ( which will come in handy on my 917 project car - I need to make exact templates for the fiber glassing ) .... also lots of 12ft - 2x4's annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd 2x8's ..... Of course they didn't pay for it the homeowner did ...... I love re-purposing /re-claiming good stuff ...... Mike

As someone once said, "One man's junk is another man's treasure" or words to that effect. Of course it could be "woman's" to be equitable.

As they say....

The right time and the right place.... always said.... if I could ship out all the stuff they throw out at construction sites they could build a city (in a third world country)...

I hate throwing good stuff out to the Dumpsters on my construction site but you have to be VERY careful who you let pick thru it, because some people are just looking for a way to make a claim for getting hurt . Every once in a while I get lucky and find someone who can be trusted. I have seen so much good lumber just hauled off to the land fill it makes me sad.

WASTED STUFF

:agree::agree::agree::agree: ......... I can understand the renter of the dumpster having those concerns, and wish it weren't so...... But the load I took OUT of the dumpster was worth about $350.00, retail ...... and I'm keeping it out of the Landfill ( and landfills are becoming an endangered item ) ...... Thanks Mike
