• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Some like it hot...

...And I like it VERY hot!

I figured that I should give a short report on the Jerky Hut's "more interesting" choices...
The Teriyaki Habanero was a breeze... disappointing actually! I ate a half-pound of it this afternoon, and had no ill effects!

Now...
The smoked Ghost Chili jerky is a very nice surprise! :2thumbs:
At one million Scoville ( The Habanero is "only" 350,000...); it's a trip! It has a very sweet flavor initially... not unlike the Habbies do! The wave of heat comes in a bit more forcefully! And sticks around a bit longer...

I'm holding off on tackling the smoked Scorpion jerky... This stuff packs a REAL punch at two-million Scoville!
(The Trinidad Scorpion is the "Mac-Daddy" of the hot peppers...)
When I tried it earlier last Month at Americade; I was impressed at how hard it hit you right away.

This stuff is NOT for the meek! :yikes:
I'm kind of just going to munch on the Ghost for a while; I've got a full half-pound of it to enjoy...
THEN; I'll go face to face with the Scorpion!

Hot, Hot, Hot...!!

wow..!! When it gets that hot pretty much doesn't matter what your chewing on..!! :roflblack::roflblack: Caliente.!! Wish I could get some of the hot peppers from back home..those would peel paint off a buick...:roflblack: Enjoy the jerky...

Brave, very brave. I cannot do anything hot these days. My days of eating a whole jar of banana peppers (hot) at one time are long gone.

More power to those that can eat the good stuff and live to tell about it.:yes::yes::yes::yes:

I will of course; exercise the utmost of circumspect care , when describing what "Part-Two" of this experiment entails!

Bob, we call that Montezuma's Revenge. :yikes:

I can't eat the real hot stuff anymore but do enjoy some of the mild stuff. When I was in Thailand they had a "soy sauce" that I was urged to try. Mamasan would come around with her Khao Phat, a rice dish. I tried some of the soy sauce.

Thai food is some of the hottest. Indonesian also. Used to be able to do it when I was young, but no more.

I may have to do some International travelling... :D
If I end up needing diapers in my old age; at least I'll know what caused it! :roflblack:

I'm gonna go find a Thai food place for the fourth...
Not ALL of the fireworks, will be airborne! :roflblack:

UPDATE: I'm still here, and nothing has fallen off the chassis yet... :D
I ended up eating the entire half-pound of "Ghots" jerky over the period of a day... no ill effects at all!
Sonny-Boy stopped by, and I gave a piece of it to him to try. He's not into the heat as much as I am; yet liked the flavor, and didn't find the heat undreasonable...

Now for the Scorpion jerky...
THIS stuff has definitely ramped-up the heat factor!

Just to be safe; I wouldn't dare try to eat more than about one strip of it per day. It hits harder, higher and longer; than the previous jerkies that I've tried...
But the flavor is good, and I'd surely buy it again! :2thumbs:

(Now; where's the bottle of milk???)
