• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Smooth spyder backrest.

Ordered the Smooth spyder backrest for my F3. It got here quick. Great service from him. I can only suggest one thing and it is minor. Have some pictures to come with the instructions. Although I was able to figure out how to put it together and mount it just from looking at the pictures on the website others may have a problem! Other than that I love this back rest! I chose this one over the can am as it was cheaper than the can am and unlike the can am one, I can use it while riding by myself or adjust it to the back so the wife can ride and feel little safer. She is the main main reason I got it in the first place. To me that is what makes it worth the money. Now she will hopefully start riding with me.

Yeah the install video is for the rs I think but I managed with pictures. I just started putting things together like them and now its on. Between the backrest and the way i have my footpegs, I can pretty much stretch out. Good for cruising.

Credit to how good the design is. Started to fit RS & now all way to F3. My ST not too far off from RS but still very well designed. :)

SmoothSpyder Backrest

I love my SmoothSpyder backrest. I agree that photos would help, but I got mine assembled by reading and rereading the instructions carefully.

I'm contemplating one of these but my only conern is wether the suppots for the backrest will rub the passenger in the rearwards position? As the supports are angled inwards and join to the back rest in the centre they appear to cross the plane of the passenger seat when the rest is reclined to the back postion. I'm concerned about passenger comfort and whether the supports will dig in to either side of the passengers body. The only photo I can't find of this backrest is with a passenger sat on the bike.

Has your potential passenger sat on the F3 yet and if so do you have any feedback?

Thanks.

My wife sat on it the night I got it out on. I asked her how it felt and she said it felt great. She didn't mention anything about it rubbing her sides or anything. But my wife is small like me. When She gets home tonight from work I'll have her sit on it and see how close the sides are to her

Thanks for the feedback and the offer of a test sit from your wife. We're in Florida in May so thinking of ordering on of these to take back to the UK with us.

Not sure I want to start a conversation with my wife about the size of her rear though...........

Lol. I wouldn't either if I were you!! If you did that you will most likely be riding by yourself!

Before the wife got home I put it in the farthest position where the wife would want it and it is no where near running on her.

My wife would never go for a ride on my motorcycle. I bought the Spyder and the smoothspyder backrest and she got on for a ride. The first time in 28 years, she liked the rest, said she felt safe.

I just installed mine recently and it's just right for the wife and myself. Well worth the money over having to purchase two can am backrest. Seems to be sturdy and easy to adjust. Pics or vid will definitely help speed up the process of putting it together.

Smart man... Happy wife happy life! My girl asked me the same thing: "What if I fall off the back?" The answer was simple: "Your sister is single and kinda looks like you." There was no nookie for a week on that one. But I carefully timed it on the week she had the curse going. :ohyea:

Where in Florida are you? Jim is down in South Florida, I'm in Jacksonville, and I bet there are others around the State that would be happy to meet up and let you see it first hand.
