• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Slingshot: Stop Sale - Stop Ride Notice

Somebody at Polaris is going to be in trouble. :yikes::yikes::yikes:

Steering that can fail--not something to take lightly.

but for real..?? If so they are on top of it...:dontknow:

:agree:, and it's for real

There were two people that reported failures in the steering rack with bearings. Now, they are calling in the whole fleet for repair !!!!!!!! Keep in mind, we have only started to get deliveries about a month ago. nojoke

This was a wicked fast recall, and that leaves a very good taste in my mouth !!!!!! They even came on the Slingshot forum and post this letter to us from the Vice President of Slingshot himself. :firstplace:

Although it was two different issues between the Spyder and Slingshot, the end results would have been the same.................

In both models, the driver would not have control of the motorcycle if the part failed during operation !!!!! :yikes:

Thankfully, this was caught and a recall was issued in 6+ weeks. You cant ask for a faster response time than that.

Good responsible handling of the issue AFTER it was discovered.

I would be interested in finding out how it could happen so early in the roll out. Is it a design, manufacturing, and/or an assembly issue.

I also wonder how much the current Spyder investigation has made the company more aware of the need to operate "prudently" when issues surface.

I am sure they will make it right.

No doubt they've put an immense amount of work into building these, and have even managed to keep the pricing reasonable. Problems with a first year model are nearly inevitable, but this one certainly was more then they could have been expecting.

I'm impressed by the quick response to the issue, and hopefully the new owners will be back on the road in short order.

Love my Slingshot

Love my Spyder and any problems with either of them are taken care of much to fast to please the HATERS!
