There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Slingshot on the road.

Saw a Slingshot on the road today...heading south on U.S. 1 near Cocoa. It was in company with someone on a regular two wheeler. I was in my car...

To me it just seems too exposed, which is weird considering we ride Spyders. Neither of the riders in the SS were wearing helmets, which may be the reason I felt the way I did, but Florida's not a helmet state. (I always wear them). I can't imagine driving one on the freeway but they still look like they'd be a great track car. At least to me.

And full disclosure...I could get in one but getting out of it would be...umm...problematic.

Slingshot

hey might not be your cup of tea... :D
But there's no doubt that it's a vehicle that's drawing lots of interest!
A lot of interest, that "Pure Speed" a Can Am dealer not far from where I live told me that next year they are going to sell Slingshots in addition to Spyders.

Hi phil,

Re: Saw a Slingshot on the road today...heading south on U.S. 1

Back in March I was in Daytona Beach for 5 days and saw 4 or 5 of them on US 1. Not a helmet in the bunch.

But, they sure looked like they were having fun.

PS) Oddly, every one that I saw was heading south. Hmmmmmmm

Paul Spencer of UK Spyder Web already has one! He got it around a month ago.

I like em. No test drive for me because no dealer here sells them. I keep seeing an all black one on many of my test rides. We are always whizzing by at 65 in the opposite direction, so I have not met up with the driver yet.

I would wear a helmet. No problem getting in, but think I would need EMT assistance to get out. :roflblack:

They're a little easier to get into and out of, than you think... nojoke
Step in, bring your other leg in, grab the wheel, and use it to slide and scoot yourself down into the seat.
Getting out is the reverse process; stand up in the bike, and just step out...

Slingshot

I bought one one of the first ones in Ohio. It wasn't my thing. Kept it a couple months then traded it. Both my wife and I like the Spyder much better.

Interesting..!!

I don't see many around here. We do have two club members that have them but don't know if they really like them or are defending their actions...:dontknow:

I would like to take one for a spin to confirm my suspicion which is not only are they of course really expensive but if you sit in it rather than ride on it you might as well by a convertible sports car. IMO.

The main reason I purchased mine was I have young grandkids and I like buckling them in next to me versus sitting on the back of a Spyder. Picking up or dropping one of them off at grade school is a special treat that they look forward to. Now that I have it, I love it. I wish I could afford to have both though. Different rides.

 They start at only $20,000... pretty cheap, when compared to an RT Limited.

I saw a couple around north Denver and then I saw the same 2 for sale on Craigslist about Aug. They were listed for a long time and one has still not sold. Now there are a lot of Colorado dealers trying to sale new ones on Craigslist. I think they are a hard sell, new or used.

BOB,

Here in Colorado the price rages from $21,199 to $26,199 then there is an additional dealer markup of $3,000 that is not negotiable. there Kool but not for me I'll stick with my Spyder. :yikes: jtpollock I know it's Cool but I like Kool.

When I first saw them I was interested.Took a drive over to NY state as they are still not sold in Ont.Sat in it but not my thing. To wide in the front as some say buy a small convertible. But to the ones that bought one enjoy.
