• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Show us your Day Trips/Unusual Attractions...

Is there somewhere, within a few hours ride of your location that you have visited and might be of interest to others? Many places get passed by simply because they are not advertised.

I'll start off with this. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but a interesting place to visit

Wow that place looks Spooky :gaah: ..... for me it's not a place , but a road .... 12 miles south of my house is the twistyist, most challenging 3 miles of paved road I've ever been on with a motor vehicle.... I visit it often during the riding season .... It makes the " Dragon " seem like an Interstate :roflblack:...... Mike

We have a road similar to what you mention. Mt Judea (Judy). About 15 miles from us. A little longer than yours, but you better watch out for those 10 mph turns. The signs mean it.

In Alaska we had similar. About 15 miles long. Hatcher Pass. The picture below of the yellow and black Spyder was taken at the top of Hatcher Pass in June. The temp would be 10 degrees colder between the top and the bottom. We rode it at least twice a month (during the riding season).

Here are some photos of the Hatcher Pass area. pictures #37 - 69 show various views. From back in the day when I was taking a lot of pictures.

Camping, canoeing, kayak rentals, various music special presentations, Folk, Country, Jazz, Blues, scheduled during the year. Primitive camping, full hook ups, and other options. Dozens of small, roadside parks, some with boat ramps, some with camping hook ups, some with riding trails, all along the Suwannee River where it winds through several counties in my area for over 100 miles. Some of the small parks are where cold water springs flow out of the rocks and run into the river. Other parks are where different smaller rivers flow into the Suwannee. Some are state parks, some owned by the county they are in. Some are private and charge a fee for the boat ramps and camping.
Itchetucknee Springs Park offers tube rentals, paddle boards, swimming, diving, has transportarion back to the parking lot after tubing down the river. All very clear, pure spring water that bubbles up from underground caves in the area.

Plenty of other public access lakes, campgrounds, and other places to visit.Too much within 50 miles of where I live to list, as well as the Gulf Coast on the west side and the Atlantic Coast on the east side.

My wife and I visited Van Sant Airport in Bucks County, PA last year. We plan on coming back with a picnic lunch as they have plenty of picnic tables and watch the airplanes take off and land. You can even sign up to ride in an airplane!

We toured the Asylum in 2016 as part of our West Virginia trip. We did Seneca Rocks, Smoke Hole Cavern, and many other cool attractions in WV. The roads there are awesome.

Closest thing to us is Starved Rock State Park - there is some decent riding around and through the park, with nice little towns around to get decent food and drink.

A couple hours north of here is Galena, IL with some really nice roads leading up to it. Rt 20 and Rt 2 have some nice sections. Galena has shops and restaurants lining a main street, and is a biker destination around here. As a matter of fact, my wife and I are staying there Memorial Day weekend, just to get away.

Mississippi Palasades Park is nice. Rt 84 follows the Mississippi river and has nice views.
