• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Went to SpyderQuest 2015, first rally I've ever attended. Great rides; outstanding planning and organization, everything very thoroughly thought through and carried out well. Great vendors, was able to have my bike aligned and this was very helpful for going down the road with less work and lots more stability through the twisties.

Now this brings me to the title of my post. I live in Kalamazoo, Mi, traveled to Vermont to visit a friend, stayed with them and commuted 40 miles one way each day to Spyder Quest. Did some riding with my friend before the rally, and then on Monday 9/14 went up towards Burlington area and stayed with Blue Knight 911. He was kind enough to offer his home for lodging and then proceeded to take me riding in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York.

Blue Knight 911 is a 30+ year resident of Vermont. He told me that he knew some great twisties and would be pleased to share them with me. He is also a gourmet cook and was kind enough to start each day off with a great cooked breakfast prior to riding. This even though he doesn't eat breakfast himself!!!

Ride we did, averaging 6+ hours a day, up down around and through the most beautiful roadside sights in the country.

Back to his house, play with Max the bulldog, listen to Max sing for his supper and breakfast, then cuddle with Max while watching football on a room sized television screen.

Great support from the bed provided, slept the sleep of the dead each night. Get up in the AM, and do it all over again. Four days of riding and eating heaven.

Blue Knight 911 is one of the nicest individuals I've ever had the pleasure to know, a very gracious and caring host and does truly know where the twisties are located and how to run them HOT and fast.

This was an outstanding collimation of a great vacation and I cannot express enough my gratitude to Mike for sharing his home, dog and beautiful countryside with me.

Thank you Mike for your hospitality, companionship and stories. The debt will be repaid if you venture to my neck of the country.

For those who think I may be exaggerating just PM Murphy Brown and inquire about her contact with Mike.

Returned home to Kalamazoo on 9/20/15; back to the galley and row the boat till the next time I'm able to escape for a little ride on my bike.

Al from Kalamazoo

X2

:agree: also. It was my pleasure to meet Mike at Spydertquest. Great guy. I hope he decides to contact Lamont and come back on the forum soon.

Awesome..!!

I see he schooled you well in "the not posting pictures" he is known for. Guess his photographer was not available either. Sounds like you had a great time and couldn't have done better in a five star resort...:roflblack: glad you had this opportunity...:2thumbs:

 I've been kind of quiet about Mike...

There's no doubt that he comes across much nicer in a face to face setting; than he does on a computer monitor.
Some of his "Cheaper is better" line gets under my skin worse than a Texas Chigger, but he DOES like to think outside of the box. We need that around here.

Agreed

I just want to add that he is a helpful person, providing detailed information on how to, and willing to experiment and share his acquired knowledge.

Really do appreciate knowing him on this web site... and missing his comments on the differents subjects...

Come back to us, please, Mike.!!!

I find that typing your thoughts are much different that saying your thoughts as some take it the wrong way.. Some say typing large letters say you are yelling.:hun:

Wish I knew the correct internet /email protocol.. As I know all of us have come across the wrong way on posts.

I have found Mike very helpful, his thoughts may come across the wrong way but found he is a genuine person and like to see him back.

Lamont I vote to have Mike's ban lifted.

All he has to do is contact me and tell me he'll play by the rules that I have for everyone here. He has not done so and he is not above the law because a few people here make a post about him.

What you don't take into consideration is I remove post when they are reported to me so you're not seeing what I see. If he wants to play nice he's welcome back but he has to contact me and say so. That simple.

No we don't apparently see what you do but, Don't you get tired of the Whiners? I sure do, and am sick and tired of all this PC nonsense being pushed everywhere. If someone whined about my request for a flag wrap and caused you to delete it, I am OFFENDED by that individual and want them terminated. They neither understand History or Pride of Heritage. As far as bullying goes, If one feels bullied, they should handle it or get out of the kitchen. They should not be bothering you with their whining.
Now let's get back to helping each other on one of the best forums on the net.

:agree: about your confederate flag wrap post. I'm still irked about that being removed :banghead:

We've all heard about "Iowa stubborn" from the song in "Music Man".......Could it be that Vermonters are even more stubborn than Iowans? :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Us Vermonters are real stubborn. I am very stubborn. Deanna

I too met Mike at SpyderFest this year and he's a nice bloke. The forums can be hard to get your head around and posting your
thoughts is fraught with danger...There's always someone who will take exception to your views on almost any subject, but that's folks.
It takes all types and even after many years of posting on forums and moderating on a couple I am still amazed at how some people are so sensitive
to things that are posted.
