• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Short, sweet PGR mission today

We had a short but SWEET Patriot Guard mission today...we welcomed back home an Army soldier returning from a tour in Afghanistan. It was a welcome change from the other PGR missions we've been riding lately since we could personally thank a live person, instead of honoring a veteran's final mission. They are all very heart-warming but today's mission was the best! I'd like to thank all of you veterans out there, as well...I know a lot of you didn't get this type of welcome home on your return to the U.S.

Good to hear

:bowdown:Teddy & I would also like to add our personal thanks to all the Active & Retired military as well

And as a Veteran, I Thank you.

I remember when i got out [67] I wanted to fly home in Civvies Not in uniform but because i didn't have enough money i had to fly standby 1/2 fare if in uniform. I think my pay at the time was about 176$ a month.:sour:

From one PGR Meber to another. Welcome homes are the best.
As a side note. We did a WW 11 funeral mission a couple weeks ago. His Family asked if the PGR could explain his medals, He had never told them what they were. A Silver with cluster, and Distiguished Flying Cross with more then one cluster. We did.

Bob, when I went in the AF in March, 1952, I was knocking down a cool $68 per month. After four months training I got a stripe and now up to $82. Went to radio school and got a second stripe after passing 20 words per minute in code...now up to $102...(life if good). I voluntered for airborne radio and went on flying status...now $150 with flight pay.....WOW!

The AF treated me well. I did my hitch, went into the reserves, did college on the Korean GI Bill, got a commission and went back in. They sent me to get my Masters degree...I retired in 1981. Did the Korean War, Viet Nam War, saw the world and am very glad to be an American.

My only comment is folks now do not know how lucky they are being here in the U.S. (rant over)
