I've been emailing a lady lately, whom I 've never met, that may be interested in ryding with my chapter (Spyder Ryder of America Inland Empire Chapter). She owns one of the PE's with her husband. She has little experience on the bike because of her stature, which is 4'11". Frankly, I don't know the dynamics of short people ryding. I'm 6'1, 61, and in the fat, middle aged, bald guy category, and we have our own challenges. I suggested she get those adjustable grips on the end of the handle bars. Any other suggestions from those in the same boat. She did say she and her hubby want to get a RT as soon as the pay off the RS. I assume that might open another can, don't know.

BTW, did anybody see that picture of a VERY SHORT person on a Spyder. Is that photoshopped? Its convincing.

Height

From a recovering short fat guy, (Im now 5'7" and about 200lbs), my height is zero issue. And I use Highway pegs and a 4" helibar riser. Worst case, she might need to change out some pegs that angle to meet her, or floorboards that are a little higher, but overall I do not think it would be a huge issue.

Fred Raus wife is of that height area, granted she is only a passenger, but they do install blocks on the floorboards so her feet reach, even with the RTs passenger floorboards all the way up.

I'm only 5'2", and I have zero issues when ryding my 2010 RT-A. Didn't have to have any of the controls modified at all. Totally different from the Tri-Glide we own, where my height puts my leg right against the air cleaner:cus:! If the lady is lucky, the Can Am dealer will be able to tweak any pedal, etc. necessary to get her comfortable and ryding! Good Luck!

I'm on the short side 5'3" (and on the heavier side) and I have 3" risers (non adjustable) and they work fine for me.

I have a friend who is also 4'11" and although she has her own spyder (with only a 1" riser), she does well. She DID try my bike and loved the way the risers made it easier for her, too!

I never noticed the blocks. I knew Cherry was short though.

Thats the one! It looks genuine. Now tell me. What would you do if you saw this drive past you? Would you have a close one? What if he flipped you off?
