• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

short antennae

I am looking at purchasing the short antennae from Spyderpops. It looks like the installation is simply to unscrew the original and screw in the new one. Would like to know if it is that easy of a process. I have read other places that changing an antennae can be a real hassle.

Thanks

It was one of the easiest changes i made on my 2015 RT Limited, and the new boot is so much nicer than the OEM one.

Getting the old one off can be a bit of a chore... A 7mm deep-well socket, and a big pair of Vise-Grips; seem to make it much easier.

:agree: Getting the OEM antenna off can really be a PITA. BRP in their infinate wisdom used the wrong Loctite on the threads of the antenna which makes it really hard to get it out of the block attached to the radio. When you replace yours, use Blue Loctite on the antenna threads. The Blue will hold the antenna firmly, yet if for some reason you ever need to take it off, you will be able to easily.

:agree: had a heck of a time trying to remove mine, untill i use the 7 mm deep socket! looks like BRP need to dump some locktite, and they dump it all on the antena!

I came from to little on the 2010's. We lost our antenna that time.

When I replaced it (under warranty), I used blue locktite--just a bit near the bottom couple threads.

Now, it sounds like they are overdoing it. They will get it right sometime--maybe. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
