• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shop Manual

I want to do as much of the service on the Spyder as is practical myself. What manuals are the self servers using? They have official looking manuals on CD for your computer on E-bay. Anyone use one or have a better option?
Thanks

I am on my own...

Here in Venezuela I have to do all maintenance chores and small repairs by myself as there is no BRP dealership to speak of.

Please enlighten me about getting a maintenance / shop e-manual for a 2009 SE5.

Thanks and regards, Pilo

I have the shop manual on CD from eBay and find it quite satisfactory especially for the price. I do wish it had a table of torque specs somewhere...if it does I haven't found it.

The downloadable manual I got off of eBay last year had drawings and probably some seperate sections for SE5 stuff. I don't remember specifics of the SE5 content and I'm not at home to access the manual right now to verify it. I know the schematics in the back had both an SM5 and an SE5 schematic.

I downloaded one from this site I believe- Its 08-09 Manual and SE5 Version. You might find free in a search!!

There is a general page of torque specs for various size fasteners near the beginning of the shop manual. Many of the exploded views throughout the manual show torque specs next to the picture of the fastener. In some descriptions of procedures in the manual, torque specs. are given in the narrative. The ones I use for maintenance I have Incorporated into the check off list than I have made.

Question on the manuals

I see on some of the above sites shop manuals as low as 4.99. I got the latest edition of the spyder 08 and 09 manual for my dealer back in april and it was $125.00 if they are available for 4.99 to 14.99 was I taken to the cleaners?

Nope, Ken. You got the legal copy. All others are illegal... the theft of BRP's intellectual property.

How're those exhausts coming?

.

Have most of the

parts together but have been under the weather for a couple weeks now. Hope to be back on the exhaust mod in a couple of weeks. Will talk with you in a few days about the dent tips. / Ken
