There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Shock and tire pressure settings for big guy

Picking up my new 2011 RTS this Friday in Memphis, AFTER a Thursday day trip to Spyderfest. I have been reading the posts here on shock settings, tire pressures, etc.... And was thinking of having the dealer set me up like this for delivery with me being 330 lbs and when wife rides add another 125 lbs.

Based on comments here was thinking shocks set to 5, 20 lbs pressure in front tires, 30 in rear, 60 in rear suspension would be a good starting point. Comments?

Thanks

That's a good starting point, but I'd be ready to pump the rear shock up a bit more... I normally run 60psi back there and my Missus and I total out at about 370lbs... (But she won't let me tell you how the numbers break down!)
Hey; tinkering around with them to see what works best is fun!

Bob -- that's about our total weight also, what do you run for tire pressure and front shock settings ? Thanks:coffee:

Being a big guy too, that sounds like a good starting point and agree, you may need to add some PSI to the rear bag ... but you'll figure out what works with fine tuning.:congrats:

Shock preload at setting #4
Front tires are at 18psi and the rear is at 30...

:2thumbs:Thanks for the info we are actually a combined 330 -- 15# front, 28 Rear , preload 3. Put about 80 miles on with Momma today everything went excellent, the better half was very comfortable, but I think I will up the front to about 17 and go to the 4 preload and try it, almost all the riding will be 2 up.:ohyea:

Ok, so sounds like rear suspension I should up from 60lbs to about 75lbs?

Leaving front shocks at 5, front tires at 20lbs and rear tire at 30lb.

If I were you, I'd try 60 to see how it feels and then just bump it maybe 5 psi at a time if you think you want it a bit firmer...
Currently when I ryde solo, 60 feels a bit stiff. I leave it there though since the Missus rarely lets me out of her sight when I've got the bike! :D
