• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. First...Thanks to all for the kind words and concern after my post "Thank God for three wheels" Mary is fine... we learned a real lesson re hydration. I installed ISCI arm rests with a cup holder and we cruise in comfort. While I had the tools out I put on their floorboards and cruiser boards. Great products.

SHIPPING TO HAWAII
recap: Motorcycle Movers from Glendale AZ to San Diego Port, using MILKS Transport, and PASHA from there to Hilo, HI.
Bike damaged by truck driver (License plate light etc., Seat, windshield, scuff marks etc. while on board ship.

DO NOT USE MOTORCYCLE MOVERS, (out of Florida) They placed the responsibility on the driver,MILKS TRANSPORT. his ins does not cover the 1st $1000 and he is in jail in CO (?) for something. I am still out $283.00. It took 2 months to get them to just tell me that they were not responsible.

PASHA covered everything they were responsible for and paid promptly. I have now shipped the Spyder, a truck, car, tractor, mini-excavator and 2 quads with them. Great to deal with!

So far I am the only Spyder on the Big Island and having a ball. Posts were made on the HI Forum re setting up Spyder rentals here...Great Idea if you have the capital. Harley rents out bikes for $185/8hr and seem to be booked up.

Riding is fantastic. I run a little hot down in Kona, but the TRIC heat package seems to really make a difference. New Pics to come.

Aloha

Keep us posted about your adventures in Hawaii. It would be great to have some rentals on some of the islands--but as you mentioned, requires someone with a lot of capital to get set up.

There was supposed to be a rental place on Maui, but the SL who was signed up did not get the rental as planned.

I would sure like to rent a :ani29: next time I go to the islands--but time will tell if they are available.

I recall your story about the damage; it seems as if it's finally been somewhat resolved. :2thumbs:
Sooooooo.... Do you have lots of spare bedrooms for guests??? You'll have all sorts of visitors from here showing up if Spyder rentals becomes a reality! :firstplace:

You are living my dream. I love the Big Island and have thought of shipping my bike there. Would you be willing to share the cost of doing that? I would only want it there for a month or so and then want to ship it back to the West Coast.

Have fun.

Depending on the current cost of bunker fuel you are looking at $1,200+\- . San Diego to Hilo, cheaper to Honolulu...I think

Although it's beautiful there, I'm afraid I'd go buggers. Couldn't do submarines 'cause I gotta stick my head outside every three days or so. Thing riding a Spyder on an island would be like being stuck on a big NASCAR track...
