• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shift wrench

I got those bullet-proof Kewl metal peg brackets that bolt to the motor mounts and they are absolutely great. There is one minor glitch, if your ryde is an SE5 like mine. If the tranny sticks in gear (can happen), the drill in the operators manual is to use a 13mm wrench to move the shift linkage. Only the new brackets block the usual staight spanner from swinging.
A wrench that will work is easily made from a piece of 3/16 x 1 x 6 1/2 inch flatbar. Trace the cutouts with a pencil, using a 13mm open end as a template. Make a 45 degree opening at one end and a 90 at the other. One works better for upshifts, the other for downshifts. I used a chopsaw with an abrasive wheel and finished up with a grindstone and files. A hacksaw and drill would work, too. Fit it to a 13mm nut. The length fits nicely in the Spyder's tool pouch.

Why go through all that work? Get a SM5!! :joke:

I to realized this when I started mine up

Great idea!!!!
I had to move my shifter to get the bolt in on the left side. When I started it up it was in gear and would not shift. I had to use a screw driver to get it out of gear. Kewl Metal should fabricate these wrenches and give one to everyone that has purchased a set of foot pegs. For the cost of the foot pegs the wrench should have been included.
Seem to me they didn't do the R&D for this problem.

Bones, you and Black Widow spend your days squeezing clutches and kicking shifters and you both figure I'm doing too much work?( SM stands for Sado-Masichist, right? Figures, with tags like Crusher and Widow). Anyhow, quit picking on us poor SE guys. We've got too many gremlins already.
