• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sheepskin for Passenger Backrest

Have any of you with sheepskin covers get one for the passenger back rest?

The one I'm looking at is a wrap-around style. Not sure what kind of Tupperware I'll need to remove in order to put it on and take it off.

Just wondering if anyone has this style and what kind of trouble it is to take it on and off when you need to.

I don't recall ever seeing one...
Perhaps the installation and removal processes have been considered as too unwieldy...
There's nothing to really wrap an elastic strap around; without at least loosening the oem backrest. :yikes:

Do it yourself?

Could you post pics of the style of seat back and cover you are referring to.
I still have the stock seat on my Spyder, but would like to switch it for a comfort seat or ultimate seat, but have no experience with either one yet. As far as back rest cover,
It really wouldn't be all that difficult to simply buy a skin from IKEA and attach some Velcro straps or buy some stretchy material, most fabric stores carry, and from scratch make a very decent enough unit of your own. Other wise have a shoe maker sew you a back rest cover from a sheepskin that you choose, to provide. There are several vendors here who do quality work, if you would prefer to have customized particulars included.
As I also do leather work as a hobby and know it wouldn't be too much work at all, on your own. Even to hand sew it, would be fairly easy for some. Sheepskin is very soft leather, and with an appropriate needle and using very strong thread, like Aramid...

Please post pics, when you can thanks.

Custom sheepskin seat shops can probably do a special order. I have not seen these on the market for years. It would not be to difficult to make one from scratch though.

Yes, that's upholstered

Great looking, and I'm sure very comfortable for the passenger. Are there any Spyder photo examples?
I wonder about all the sheepskin along the sides and back? How beneficial that really is?
May your 'Lady Godiva' enjoy it... ;-)

Aside from esthetics, and I agree that counts plenty for many, but unnecessary for actual rider comfort. I could buy five skins at IKEA, for the same price, you know? Yes, but they would never look that nice... Please Post pics when you have it installed...
Do you treat yours with Ugg protector?

I placed an order for the dual seat cover today. I opted out of the passenger back rest. I agree, other than aesthetics, it serves no purpose. ;)

I'll post pictures when it arrives. Should be about 3 weeks.

Thanks all!
