• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am looking at getting a communication system for my 2013 RT. I was looking at the Sena SM20 Is this a good unit ? also It did not come with the gps Will i need to get a blue tooth gps if i am going to use the sens sm20 ? looking for answers

WELCOME!

I have no experience with the 20s but we are in our third season with SMH-10's and they work very well. If you want to hear instructions from the GPS you will need a bluetooth unit. If you ride in an area with good cell coverage you can use your smart phone for directions. I don't listen to the GPS, just watch it but we have the Zumo 660 that came with our RT Limited.http://www.motorcycledave.com/

You do not need a Bluetooth GPS if you wire the GPS into the audio system like BRP does. Simple cable to make. Then you can hear the GPS out your speakers and it will interrupt any music playing.

I wired my GPS this way. While my GPS does support BT and hands free (not many do support hands free), I can have it either way.

See my video here on how I mounted my GPS, 12V hookup and to the point how to wire it to the audio system like BRP does.

BUT with that said, to hear the audio system in your BT helmet, you will need the SM10 Audio streaming device and the dongle cable. With this anything that plays in the audio system (would come out the speakers) will now be heard in up to two BT helmets.

See my cable making post here:

But if you have NO desire to hear your Spyders audio system in your BT helmets and simply want GPS in your helmets, then yes get a GPS that has Bluetooth. But also be aware, only a FEW GPS' support hands free e.g. the ability to use your phone THROUGH the GPS via Bluetooth. The ZUMO GPS do as well as some older ones like the Garmin 765, 765T, 775, 775T and a couple more.
