• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sena Remote

Is anybody using the Sena Handlebar Remote?
If so, what is your opinion of it?
How useful is it? How good is it?
I'm considering a Sena 20S, and I'm wondering if the remote would be a good option.

The regular remote will not work if you have the paddle shifters. I have the Sena 10u's and what I did wad get the wristband remote and strapped it on the handlebar. I put the regular handlebar remote on the rear grip for passenger. It works very well for me and I have had several people say it looks like it belongs and they would not know it was not part of the bike unless I told them. Not sure I'd go that far but it does fit and work well for me.

Not sure why you use a remote? I have two SENA SMH 10b's and bluetooth to passenger, I Phone 6+ and Garmin 665LM. Also use on the BMW M/C Navigator 5 with same Bluetooth set up's. Is it a transmit button because Bluetooth is not available? Just asking for my own education and curiosity.

For me it's mainly ease and convenience and is almost needed with a 10u. The 10u has everything INSIDE the helmet and there are only 2 buttons. There are way too many combinations to learn to do things, plus you need to open the visor and reach in. The remote has the joystick and 2 simple buttons. It's very easy to reach while driving without going to the helmet and very easy to do at least the basics. The remote is also paired with the 10u in the helmet. So is it absolutely required - no but I could not imagine using 10u without - too painful. If I had the dongle with joystick on outside of helmet I may feel differently.

Thanks, I was not familiar with the 10u. Soon to be 76 and still learning. :D

I have the Sena handle bar remote mounted on the left side of the right hand grip. I can control it using just my thumb for my 20s,There was a learning curve in trying not to move the throttle in either direction, but I now have no problem and the remote is very handy to use.
