• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dave, do you know if SENA has done anything to increase the volume of the headsets ? I have the 20S and have already installed the new speakers, but I'd like to upgrade. I need the added volume because I wear earplugs.

Did you boost your SM10? I boosted mine and now I can hear w/o using full volume. + I don't have to wear my hearing aids.

Dam I tried to download the SM10 manual instructions for you but received a message that the site was infected. Sorry.

It's in the instructions for the SM10.
Well, it just goes to show you....ALWAYS READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL! Page 17 of the users guide says....tap the pairing button twice to boost the audio input. Thank you 2dogs, for reminding me to READ THE MANUAL.

Motorcycledave, I’d sure be interested in learning more about what is different about the spider series. I’m assuming at this point “spider” doesn’t necessarily refer to “Spyders”

Edit: Never-mind, I went to the website like you suggested and sorta as I expected “spider” refers to mesh network.

Ah ha ha, I'm thankful I'm not the only one who's done that. Guilty guilty. Let us know if it's loud enough for you.

Thanks. Unlike previous models, the 2020 RTL has the bluetooth installed as part of thd radio system. There is no SM10 add on dongle.

Threewheels have you done a firmware update on your 20s. I did one on mine and it really helped.

Thank you. I'm OK with the volume on my 20s with the speaker upgrade. My question for Dave is about the newer model. Are these volume upgrades included with the new model ?

2dogs, it will probably be quite some time before I am able to get on the Spyder. It has been a very unusual year here for us....and I’m not referring to CoVid. We’ve had very unusual heat this past summer including massive forest fires, destroyed highways, excessive rain including major flooding and now exceptionally cold and snowy winter. This is the longest the spyder has sat unused. With all that said, I now know how to “boost” the audio to my helmet. Thank you!

I am not motorcycledave but I own a Sena Spider sr1 and there is also the st1… they are the same except the sr1 is button operation and the st1 is the control wheel. The big difference is that they have bluetooth to connect to your phone only for calls music etc… but they only have a mesh intercom. Mesh is superior as an intercom because you can connect to way more units at the same time.

The downside to these units is if you are riding with others with older senas that intercom through bluetooth only and do not have mesh then you cannot communicate with them. They way i understand it is these units are able to be less expensive than many other senas because they are not using bluetooth as a communications intercom.

You are more than welcome. We've certainly had our issues with massive wild here too. When you get your spyder going post a new thread on your sena speakers. I have a 2014 Spyder RTS-SE6 Cognac also.

Looks like the “mesh adapter “ can be mounted on our spyders for any model 20-50. I bet behind the windshield on the 3 ball rack bar accessory above the dash would work perfect. Out of the way, removable and high up. Interesting topic. I’m going to see if my Calvary can boost too. Good info on this post!

This must be different than the way the other mesh units (50S) work, as you can communicate with other people who don't have mesh. My wife still uses and older Sena and we communicate all the time. In a group you can link in a non-mesh unit so they can talk to everyone in the group, but they don't have the range that the mesh does.
