"Self made" saddlebag brackets.

Hey folks.
I wanted to show off my "self made" saddlebag brackets.

I couldn't figure how to get the Nelson Rigg SSC-140 Silver Streak Mini Sport Saddlebags to sit comfortably on the back side of my Spyder.
After many tries I just decided to create my own brackets that will hold the bags out from the plastic sides along with keeping them away from the rear turn signals.
It took me a bunch of time to build them but I think they turned out pretty cool.
I wanted to try them out tonight but it raining cats and dogs here so I will have to wait until tomorrow.
Anyway I thought I would share as you folks are kind enough to share your cool mods with me.

I like the way it secures them very well. Man that's a lot of metal to essentially protect a turn signal. Guess you could stuff more inside the bracket even.

Very simple, looks like 1/8in x 1in aluminum brackets with a brace in the middle. Good thinking. Sometimes the simple things are the best. Are those bags subject to dry rot I wonder? Is it best to take them off the bike when not in use.

Yep 1/8"x1" is correct. Limber, lightweight and easy to work with.
I agree... I will not leave these on permanently. We have a long ride next weekend and I needed the storage space. My wife packs WAY to much stuff.
