Now I’ve seen it all. On the Morning Newscast today, they said and showed an Electric HD. Top speed 177 KPH (110 mph). Who’da thunk?
Welcome to 8 years ago :roflblack: The Livewire entered production in 2014.
Back in the '60s when full-size new cars were still around $3,500, someone developed an electric car that went from New York to LA on only $35 worth of electricity. It could have gone faster, but it ran out of extension cord.hyea:
:chat:...Seems like everyone is coming on board with the next chapter ....... EV (electric vehicles).
HD with a battery... $ xxx,xxx.xx.

Boombox - Speakers.
The Next Generation HD is coming soon. .....:spyder:
The Livewire and several other electric motorcycles have made coast to coast trips. Charging every 125 miles is not for me. Battery evolution has a ways to go.

I agree. But, I'll bet most Harley trips are within the Livewire range.
The world has changed significantly in 8 years.
This is my thought exactly. The Livewire is a very nice motorcycle not given the range limitations. The older Harley riders won't consider it for the most part, but that's ok because it was designed to entice younger riders into the motorcycle market.
Very true but I'm not sure I see your point. This thread was created because someone was surprised that Harley had developed an electric motorcycle. I was simply pointing out that it was brought to market 8 years ago.
It's not so good that it is not going to well for Harley sales of them, our local Harley dealer still has a first year model on the showroom for sale. Harley is doing quite well with their new duel sport/ adventure bike
You are correct Dave. Sales of the Livewire have been abysmal at best. I guess we can't really call it a failure since Harley hasn't stopped production, but they have certainly considered it.
It is kind of ironic that some of the moto mags are comparing Harley's new adventurer bike to BMW's new cruiser. Harley seems to be winning on that front. Crazy times!
