• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SE5 tranny slipping

I recentley had the tranny update done. It was not acting up before this was done. I now feel that it will slip going from first to second gear at low rpm or mid range rpm. It does not do it every time, so I'm sure the tech will not find it when it goes in next month for the fuel gauge replacement. Its not bad but I feel its not right. I'll post what the tech said later.:ani29::chat:

What is low to mid-range rpm? If you shift the SE5 at too low an rpm, it will hestiate if it is on the edge of where upshifting would cause the rpm to drop too low and be close to the downshift point. It does not want to be in a situation in which it would be forced to "hunt" for the correct gear. Another situation which will cause the shift to be "soft" is if you back off the throttle when shifting. The SE5 will blip the throttle on its own...and prefers to. I'm not saying you are doing these things, but if you make sure you do not shift until at least 4,000 rpm, preferably more, and if you make sure you hold the throttle on when shifting, and the problem goes away, you would have to adjust your riding habits. If you are already doing these things, I would continue to try to replicate the problem for your dealer.

That stinks, as this RT did not do this before it was opened up. It always shifted perfectly when we had it
.
Rule #1

First place you look is last place you touched.

Have them recheck the update work to be sure something was not missed

Yep, it did not do this before they opened up the tranny. Low rpm being 4 grand, mid 6K. Not all the time. It reminds me of any old car we all have had that is low on tranny fluid. You know the shift that goes into second, the r's go up and it slides into gear as the r's come down. What I like about the RT SE5 is that you hold the throttle at X rpm and it soundly goes into the next gear. This has changed since the "update":ani29:

Sounds like they messed up the recall repairs...or that they exposed a secondary problem. Sorry you will have to return to the dealer...especially if it is their screw-up. Shifts should be crisp and positive. Didn't mean to sound like I doubted you, but we have had new riders wondering why things weren't smooth as they tried to shift at 3,500 rpm with the throttle off.

No worrys Scotty. I love this site,I have found good and useful info here and like to read your post often. MM it did not do this before it was opened up.:dontknow:I will post back after they check it on the 19th.:ani29:
