• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was out riding yesterday nice sunshiney day bit cold but not bad anyways im riding along and in stop and go traffic and my spyder starts acting strange wasnt downshifting right and then i came to a stop and it died and wouldnt start back up then it gave me fault codes first it said check trans then it said limp mode and then it went back to check trans and then those stopped and it acted like the battery was dead when i tried to turn it over i couldnt get it in N so i was stuck in middle of Sunrise Blvd. people driving by yelling at me to push it outta the road im like F off if i could i would. :( few people actually got ouuta there cars to help me push it and i told em same thing i cant push it if i could i would have done that myself not like its that heavy lol. so i called for a tow and i guess somebody that knew my dealer seen me on road and called him and he jumped in his truck with a bike trailer and came to assist me and he beat the tow truck so i went with him and called the tow truck now my pretty new SE5 is in the shop hopfully it will get looked at this week, my dealer told me they were closed pretty much this week but he would try and get his mechanic in to take a look at it and if he couldnt then he would personally take me and my spyder to the dealership in elkgrove and they could fix it they have a more mechanics that work for em :) and are a reputable dealer.i just had the dam gear selector switch replaced monday freakin figures now its in shop i kinda wish i would have just left well enough alone it was running just fine before i got the switch replaced only reason i replaced it was the dealer told me it had been recalled and was a under warranty work so i figured it would just change it and be done with it :( man im pissed now i gotta wonder what the heck really happend to my bike hope they can fix it soon

Outta the Shop

Well i finally got my spyder outta the shop yesterday they replaced the gear sensor switch again why i dont know and they replaced some spring that they told me was an upgrade to old one and they did somthing to the computer with somthing callled a buds i take it thats a computer thing they troubleshoot probs with and error codes, i think that spring they put on it made a big diffence it sure seems to shift better now not that it really shifted bad before but i can notice a difference the shifts are more johnny on the spot same with the downshifts lol dont know really what they did but my exhaust sounds better go figure.and they told me they are gonna replace my break system too but parts are on back order i think thats that thing they were talking about online cause i didnt tell em my brakes were bad but it says i did on my receipt.and when i get bike back home i took it out for a spin and i glanced down out my display and i saw a message that said break failure it said it twice a few min apart, mechanic said it was probaby a comp glitch or hiccup is what he called it
:( but they seem to work fine i dont know why code was displayed bike ran great other than that sounds fine too. hope thats all it needs done to it for a while :) Peace out........Michael

Sounds to me like they performed the service bulletin on it. The parts you named were the same ones my dealer is supposed to be ordering to perform this on mine even though i haven't really had any problems. I just want to make sure that i don't have these problems in the future.

tiny update i found the receipt i coudlnt find it fell behind my bed lol this is exactly what they did they replaced the Ressort Spring which they say was a upgrade and they replaced Angle Rotation Sensor and they preformed some update named bulliten 2008-005 whatever that means lol and updates with buds and they put in reciept even though i didnt complain about it at all that i complained that customer states that when breaks are applied he hears a bad sqealing noise, i presume so they can justifiy to brp so they can replace the breaks i didnt know there was anything wrong with em they work just fine to me although when i got it back and i rode it around town i looked down at my display and saw a error message that said break failure it displayed that twice in a bout a ten min time frame havent seen it since mechanic said it must have been a hiccup in the comp. breaks are working fine atm dont know why the message................Michael

If you get that brake message again, try checking the brake fluid level. The Spyder is very sensitive to brake fluid levels and the slightest bit low can cause brake messages to show up, usually right after applying the brakes. This happened to me right after the dealership put on new pads and did the brake squeal service. Once I topped off the brake fluid reservoir, I haven't had the brake message again.
