• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Scuff marks on precious paint

Rode my 2010 RTS SE5 today along our great ocean road, 150 k's... got home and discovered that the inside leg zip of my leather pants has scuffed the paint on the side panel.. Not impressed!!!!! My question, is there any aftermarket add on protective products I can cover the area to prevent it happening again. On a previous bike I used a clear plastic film which adhered to the panel to protect the precious paint... however I'm sure I'm not the only Spyder lover who has had a similiar problem. Any ideas????

John

Over here the 3M Protective Film is the most common material for that use.

Unusual to have zippers inside the leg...mine have always been on the outside.

To remove the scuff marks try this:
http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/9662612/

Consumer Reports rated it #1 so I thought I'd give it a try. It works better than any scratch remover I've ever tried and I tried a lot. Works excellent on the Spyder paint. I completely removed a bad scratch I had along with numerous scuff marks. It offers three levels of removal. I usually start with the least aggresive.

It's available locally, I got mine at Pep Boys but I think Walmart sells it too.
