• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My wife and I were towards the end of a long ride today when I entered a tight left hand corner way too hot. For some reason I was unable effectively steer and lean into the turn. Before I knew it I was at the shoulder's edge with the right front off the pavement into the gravel. At that point I figured we were going to side into the ditch and I levered the bar to steer back into the corner hoping that I had scrubbed enough speed off to avoid a ditch skid. Then the strangest thing happened. As I was whipping bars from left to right to deal with the sudden over and under steer, the Spyder miraculously recovered and I was back in control as if nothing happened. I just had the pain of a fist pounding on my back.

The VSS engaged very seamlessly. There must be a darn good brain operating the VSS. Way better than mine was. If it wasn't for VSS our ryde could have ended much differently.

My lesson: slow down when tired and take a break if the body is starting to hurt.

Thank you VSS.

I'm glad to hear that you're in a position to write this up!
"Live to fight another day!"
But now, you needt to apologize to your passenger... :yikes:

Glad things went well... been there.. done that plenty...

I'd thank the engineers though..... ;-)

Good news..!!

that things came together for you both. Now heed your own advice especially taking a break. .:lecturef_smilie:

Glad to hear that the systems worked like they were supposed to. Will your wife ever ride with you again?

I hope so. We got it for safe 2 up cruising. I have gone over and over the way I screwed up the corner and I'm sure I have learned something. We'll both be on it again today.

While I do complain about the nanny from time to time, she's definitely kept me on the road safely a few times. Glad you and your wife are OK!

YES!!!

Good to hear you made out ok and the moral is behave when the wife is on the back ;)

Yes...when riding 2-up with your wife, consider it a "second nanny" and mind your P's & Q's. My girlfriend has told me i enter turns hot (not too hot, just hot) in twisties. As a former sport bike rider, iI still have the need for an adrenaline rush, but I dial it way back when 2-up. The solution...I bought another Spyder for myself and am giving the 2013 ST-L to my girlfriend. No more fists to the back for me .
