• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Safely Towing a Spyder RT

I saw wheek chocks on here from a vendor And you tie it off at the foot pegs or rear running boards if you have running boards

MY WAY

You obviously haven't read the previous 400 posts on how to do this :roflblack::roflblack: ( this year ) .....Put a very sturdy Rachet strap over the rear tire ( in line with the tread ) and secure it to the floor of the Trailer.......Plus I block the sides of the front tires........Mike

There actually are some pretty specific instructions about this very topic in your owner's manual...

BS plain and simple.....I absolutely guarantee you that there is nothing made that will prevent paint scratches under those straps if you tie down your Spyder and then tow it on a Trailer............And I have $100,000 I'm willing to wager if you have an equal amount to back up your theory.......:yikes:......Mike

Best holding point for the front

I bought a couple of stainless steel lifting eye nuts (M10 thread) that I put on the bottom shock bolts on the front of the Spyder. I removed the old nuts and turned the bolts around and put on the lifting eye nuts with some thread locker. Now you have a solid place to hook some tie straps on without undue stress. The lifting eyes can stay on permenently for when ever you need to use them. I bought mine on ebay $9 for both. They work great.

For the back wheel, I just wrap a tie strap around it and hook the tie straps to a couple of 'D' ring tie downs I installed on each side of the trailer.

 Wow!
I REALLY hope that somebody steps up, and takes your money... :roflblack:
My bikes have been "on the hook" only three times, in five years... Once of them was bringing home the 2014...
My wheels are free from strap-induced scratches... but they MIGHT have a little bit of road grime on them! :D

Gee--I wonder if there's a difference between 300 and 3000 mile tow over some rough road:yikes:

Sorry Mike you can send me the check now. Been doing exactly as the manual described for years. Its also how many exotic cars are to be tied down that i have transported. Its the correct and safe method.

 I won't even take a finder's fee, JC... :D
But you might have to buy me dinner sometime!

Particularly since I know some folks who can help with the "accounts receivables..."
