• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Russell Day Long Seat

Has anyone installed a Russell Day Long seat on their RT? Has anyone ever had a Russell seat? We had a Corbin on our 2008 SE5 and liked it, but the Russell sounds like it may be a bit more comfortable for us. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Dudley, the Day-Long is shown on the Russell site on an RT, so they have done it. I never rode with one on a Spyder, but I have owned them on other machines, and they are the best I ever sat upon. I never met a Corbin that agreed with my bony buns.

Hey Dudley,
As Scotty says, they show it on the site. I have one on my GS, love it!
Just one "Beware!" If you like to ride hard in the mountains, you will notice alot more sliding around on the seat.
Went to the NC mountains a couple of weekends ago and got a "wake-up call" riding the Blue Ridge Parkway.
A much flatter seat position, but, much more comfortable than stock.

I too, have one on my GS. It is not a "soft" seat. However, I find it very comfortable with lots of support. I'm able to put in much longer riding days with no aftereffects. I got mine a couple of years ago before our Route 66 trip and, much like your trip, you get up day after day and ride all day for many days. I found I was never sore or uncomfortable. I highly recommend it.

I am not a fast twistie lover. Jennifer and I are mostly interstate cruisers. With the 3 posts here, we have made an appointment with Russell on Nov 29th for a one-day service. We will make a short vacation out of the 1500 mile round trip and call it our 2011 RT vacation. This will be all of 4 days total. Gotta be back to work that Friday.

I had one on my Honda ST1100. It was the most comfortable seat I ve ever had. 8000 mile trip-no problem!

You are not going to regret this decision. I've had one on my Spyder since it rolled out in April and it is a great seat. Like you I do a lot of interstate ryding and with my aux tank I regularly do 200 mile runs without a stop and my no ill effects. ENJOY!

Info on aux tank please. I want to get a Spyder but would like a longer range. Thx!

Will your Russell - Day Long be available for viewing in Augusta tomorrow? Would be nice to see one.

I installed a Russell Day Long on my RT. Also had one on a 83 Guzzi Cali 2 and a Royal star Midnight Venture. Best seats I ever had!

I have a Russell Half-Moon vinyl seat on my RS; a local upholstry shop recommended Pledge to clean it. Works, stopped the sliding in curves.nojoke
