Folks,
I have a Corbin seat for my 2011 RS and after a 3k Oregon Coast ride and back from Phoenix ride I'm in the market for a new seat. Russel day long verus Kon Tour. I have the stock RS seat in my garage that I can send to either one. Does anyone have any input on one verus the other. I have included a email from Kon tour I have include two pictures of the Kon Tour seat .

Hi Bob:
Russell makes a fine seat, but their design - in my opinion - has not kept up with modern materials and technology. It's unchanged since the 1970's. Polar Mesh is a breakthrough top cover material. It's the ONLY top cover engineered specifically for motorcycle use, instead of typical off the shelf vinyl or commodity grade leather. The military specification 3M foams we use in our composite cushioning system is the best in the world. Our seats are one piece and maintain the OEM shape. KonTour Seats are guaranteed for life for the original owner for materials - and that includes UV exposure. No one else offers that type of guarantee. We've never replaced a seat or top cover that has worn out, and they've been in service since 2005.
Price for the RS driver and pillion rebuilt to full KonTour Specification with our unique Polar Mesh top cover is $775.00. A rebuild of the driver's section with the passenger section re-covered to match is $675.00.
For riders from 250 to 350 lbs. we recommend considering our MAGNUM design which adds outrigger wings made from a high density composite. This configuration will spread pressure over a greater surface area and is 8" wider in the rear of the seat. Add $200.00 for each section seat built to MAGNUM specification.
Raising a seat is easy, and will also provide more depth, increasing leg comfort since you can stretch out a bit more. We charge $50.00 per 1/2 half inch for adjustments in any direction with the exception of width - where it must be built to MAGNUM specification for the additional support.
We need your intact OEM seats to work with, we will not work on any seats that have been previously modified. Please note that our seats do not require an additional rain cover that others charge up to $65.00 for each seat. The aluminized heat rejecting one piece polyethylene barrier fabric located directly underneath Polar Mesh waterproofs the foam. It is glued in place, there are no needle holes or seams to allow water to penetrate. Polar Mesh is 100% hydrophobic, it cannot wet. No problem retaining OEM heat functions and unlike others we do not charge $50.00 extra for this.
Turn around time once in our shop is 2 -3 days with a production date, we are currently scheduling for late August. Please note that we will only hold a production date with a 50% non-refundable deposit.
We accept Pay Pal at [email protected] (where you can use a credit card if you prefer) or personal checks for the full amount. We'll need to know how many seats or additional components you are sending to calculate shipping charges which should be included in final payment. We charge actual shipping costs to return your seats, typically in the range of $35.00 to $75.00 anywhere in the US.
Although not germane to your bike, here's a few comments from BMW K1600 riders (a VERY similar seat) that you may be interested in:

I know that we have quite a few fans in the Spyder world as well, but build relatively few since we have focused our efforts on the BMW marque over the years.
Many thanks for stopping by and please let me know if you have any additional questions or would like to place an order.
Best,
Ron
