• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Runing stock spark plugs?

Hey!

My dealer suggested I change out my spark plugs at 10,000km (6,000miles), and I did. I've read some threads here which suggest the same.

When I gear-up for the 20,000km service I was going to change the plugs again. Before I pick some up, I was wondering are you guys running the stock type plugs in your Spyders these days?

I do have a tube of the heat sink paste to install on them also.

Thanks

Regarding the heat sink paste from Radio Shack / (or The Source), part number: P/N 276-1372A

Has anyone had any problems with their plug, or getting them back out after installing the paste?:dontknow: Any issues seen in the field with this paste?:dontknow:

I am running the stock plugs, and haven't seen any issues with the Radio Shack paste. There was a thread on here about running the Iridium, basically same part number with an R on the end I think. The BRP engineers stated they would probably last longer, but would not provide any measurable performance increases. I am undecided if I will try those next time, or just stick with the stock ones.

I pulled the stock plugs out at 11,000 miles, came right out. Put Iridium's in with Radio Shack paste. 12 hundred miles latter i pulled the Iridium's out with no problems, put the stock [new] plugs in with/paste and they're staying.

Stock plugs here... I see no need to use anything other than stock at this point.

Plugs are cheap... Should last the 12k, but I tend to monkey around enough with the Spyder that I change them more often.

I changed my stock plugs at 28K...they could have gone probably 50K. I put iridiums and like them fine. To me, spark plugs are like oil...do what one feels is the best for them. One's good opinion is another one's bash.
