• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT SE5 clutch cover seepage

Yeah, I was looking at the bottom panel and took it off today and found some oil in it the right side at the rear where it clips onto the brace, not a lot just a touch. I looked up and saw it was coming from the clutch cover it was moist at the bottom. Now I know where the little spots have been coming from on my floor I though it was gas I guess not. How common is this? Seriously it is very small seepage.:banghead:

No one ever had this? Figures it is just my luck I wish BRP would put these things together right the first time. Fixing all the things done wrong is getting old. :banghead:

Not a common problem. Anything with an O-ring or a gasket can be nicked slightly during assembly or maintenance. I'm sure your dealer will take good care of it. Don't let it bug you.

I believe that good selling dealer assembly prep.is the key to many of our problems.. Have you had ay warranty work done in that area? Did you put a wrench on the cover bolts to see if they were loose?

That part is factory assembled...by Rotax. The dealers have a lot of guilt to bear, but not in this case. :lecturef_smilie:

No I did not re torque them not knowing what they should be torqued to. Just another annoyance and wasted day at the dealer I plan on calling in the morning to make sure they have a seal/gasket for it before I take it down to let them fix it. I have one of those big gray fake diamond plate foam mats something like 8X10 that I park on and have been wondering where all the little spots have been coming from My first thought was the EVAP but I guess I found the reason. They are only the size of a $.50 piece but it seems I am getting more of them recently so after I get it fixed I will have to scrub the mat clean. It is a great thing to park on to detect leaks I used to park my Vette front end on it. No spots from it. The regular trips to the dealer are getting old considering I only have 1600mi on it. I am becoming less of a Spyder lover and more a Spyder tolerater . If this keeps up I will be Spyderless soon enough I just want something that is reliable to have some fun with not a pain in the neck, smells like gas, leaks oil, brakes squeal, shift solenoid squeaks and make any number of unknown noises from time to time and make me wonder just what is next......:banghead:.

Little checking..!!

cleaning the whole area under the engine and removing the pans may help make sure that is where the leak is from. Oil travels the path of least resistance and accumulates in a spot before dripping. Could be from somewhere else. If you have done this and run the engine to see where it comes from...ignore the above ramblings...

Pretty sure it is from the clutch cover I wiped my finger along the bottom of it from underneath. If it is from somewhere else I will be . Obviously I did not pull the side panels and have no desire to, just taking the bottom panel off was a PIA the way they snap and bolt it up. Seriously am tired of the crap missing bolts and poor delivery setup. recalls, techs not knowing what my belt is supposed to be set at ( I have 2 different ones say different settings and not the same as the 1050n the factory calls for) leaks and abnormal sounds that sound like something else is coming loose or breaking. I had a GL1000 in 2006 that was less trouble than this thing is. When does it start being fun?:cus: I know my alignment is slightly off too Ron's bar has helped but it still wanders. I know it is toe wander Corvettes had the same issue, toe adjustment wandering, so I get to fight or pay to get that straightened out too. I am not having warm and fuzzy feelings about BRP right now. I get to waste however long it will take my dealer to get parts and then waste my time in their waiting area with 1 magazine in it since they won't provide me a ride to and from even though I live 5 mi. from them.
