• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Rear Rim

Okay Spyder mechanics, i'm finally ready to chrome the rear rim on my 2012 RT Limited. I have been talking about it for the longest. I am a DIY'fer to a certain point. Where to place the jack? I know on the frame, but when you look under the Spyder, look like the flat part of the frame stops in the middle of the bike then splits off creating the swing arm. I need to get a jack that lift high enough to raise up the rear tire. If i remove the rear rim from the bike, i need to separate the pulley and the hub from the rim to get it chromed. Is there any thing i need to keep in line or be careful removing, like bushings, bearings, etc that i don't want to loose? I don't know anything bout belt alignment, so i'm going to try the trick Lamont showed in his video. Even though i watched Lamont's video of the Spyder RS tire removal, i'm still lost when it comes to the RT. I do have the green repair manual on a CD, but i would like to get some pointers from people on this forum. I like doing things myself, if i can, and not having to go to the dealer. :dontknow:

If it was me and I will have it done when I have the rear tire changed. I would have a new valve stem installed on the other side of the rim.

Might want to take a look at some of the other videos at the end of this one. Very interesting stuff.
