• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT rear Car Tires

Through the years I have read about people installing 215/60/15 tires on their RT Spyders. Would be nice, if possible to have comments posted describing the makes, likes, dislikes, mileage attained, etc. Thanks in advance.

Michelin Primacy (discontinued) 19,000 miles and counting, handles and rides better. Will probably go with the General Altimax RT43 next change.

(That's to keep Jack happy! :roflblack:)
Seriously: I put a 225/55-15 Kumho on mine. It's lasting much longer, and I've noticed no loss of traction, and no bad habits when riding in the rain...

There are so many threads detailing exactly this information you could read until your eyes fell out. I am surprised that you haven't seen them. I think if you do a search you will find lots threads with just this information.
For myself I decided to just go with what my local tire dealer had. His best tire is a Mastercraft. So far I have 8000 miles on that tire with no visible wear. It rides and handles great.

True, many have posted. I am just trying to get responses in one thread so all can benefit.
I have read many threads on SL in the 8 years I have been on SL. Can't remember them all, or locate them all.

Dudley, l change my Kumho 225/50R 15 last fall, just before leaving for Tucson , and it had 19,960 miles on it., and I'm sure I could have gotten 2,000 more, but, I'm not riding an RT, still on the '08 GS.

Yikes...!!

Don't know I have had good response with the OEM Kendas so for. Close to 18,000 miles each rear and 30,000 miles on the front... go with what the others have posted on car tires I am going to try the other motorcycle tire next.....

I had the original Kenda tire on the rear, and changed it out @ 5,824 miles, and I am know running the General Altimax RT 43 ( 215/60R15) I now have roughly 5,000 miles on the General Altimax RT 43.

The General Altimax RT 43 handles well on dry, wet, dirt, gravel roads. The General Altimax RT 43 tire is quite, smooth, still has a lot of thread left. I bought the General Altimax RT 43 last year. Also I am running 26psi. I know a few people on this site are also running the General Altimax tire.

Running the General Altimax on my 2015 RT and love it so far. Handles great and no issues in the 1,000 miles I have on it so far.

Who's doing these installations for you? I can't believe the dealership is going to put a non-OEM-approved tire on the machine.

WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL - MAYBE

Some do some don't.......but if you get the wheel off almost any car tire place can mount the tire for you.......I did three without the balancing ( REAR ) and had no issues ........Mike

Had Spyderpops align the tires on my RT at Spyderfest. They recommended Kuhmo 225/50/15. Got it from Discount Tires Direct for 95.00 plus $117 for installation by Freedom Powersports in Richardson, TX. Cowtown in Ft. Worth wanted $300!!!!!!!. They (Spyderpops) I should get 30,000 miles.

Sort of off topic but have you used Freedom Powersports for any service work. They wanted around $400 for the 3000 mile service. $117 for tire install not too bad for dealership.
Thanks
