• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Quirk??????

Bozzzz

I was was facing downhill on a very steep driveway and the RT would not move in reverse gear. It would try to move backwards and the at about 2500 rpm's it would cut out.

Is this a way of the RT to protect itself on steep grades or a problem?

Try it. Steep grade and see if you can reverse.

dumb question but was your park brake on???

RT Quirk

I really don't believe I have had the opportunity to reverse up a steep grade but the RT does have a rev limiter in reverse for safety reasons,
But should reverse at rpm you stated unless some other prob. exist...

I backed mine up a pretty steep incline the other day. It did take some finesse on the throttle, but it did go.

Mine did that the other day on a steep incline on a road. if I start on a flat surface I can back it up a steep incline but if you are actually on the incline and hit the reverse and try to drop the clutch it seems to complain and get that RPM cut out. I ended up just going forward and turning around when that happened.

Reverse

I back mine up my driveway every time. I think it's only about a 3% grade. I have backed up some significant grades in the mountains with no problems noted. In fact, I take it real slow around my GoldWing friends so I don't make them feel bad.

This was very steep, guessing about a 20% grade.

I've had that happen to me before. Most of the time it backs up with no problem but every once in a awhile it messes up. No explanation.:dontknow:

No problems here. I have a fairly steep driveway and back out with a passenger with no difficulty.

If it continues, and its not parking brake related, you should have it checked out.
