• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT LIMITED LEG POSITION QUESTION

We have had a refundable deposit down on a 2014 RT Limited for a month or so, but at that time never ridden a spyder (ridden the Tri Glide and Boss Hoss trikes).
Then this last week the dealer let us ride a 13 RT SE5 in their parking lot. The first thing that I didn't like was the bent knee (Goldwing style) position of my legs, and no alternative place to position them (at least the GW allows engine guard cruise pegs to be mounted) !! I'm just a 29" inseam, so what are you 6' riders doing for relief from bent legs ? I think that this is a valid question, don't you ? Thanks, Craig

PS: Dealer won't let you ride the trike on the highway unless you buy first, then if you don't like it, they cancel the deal ! Kinda sucks, but that the way they do it !

Options..!!

there are many highway peg options for leg positions. There are also many floorboard options as well. I am 6'1" and don't have anything other that stock pegs and have no problems at all. I do ryde the RS which is a bit different but still bent knee. Others wilk give their views as well.. You could check around your area fir renting a spyder...

Have a 2012 RT Limited, I am 5'9" and I rode for several months with just the stock pegs with no problems. I have installed the seal floorboards, which allow me to shift foot positions, and also act as a highway peg. Great floorboards

The limited will have floorboards, not pegs. Also, if your dealer will not let you ride the demo on the highway for a piece, you need a different dealer. Mine had me sign the waivers, show my motorcycle licence and proof of insurance and handed me the key. Said to bring it back when I was done. Made it very clear that an hour or so was not a problem. Its not a 300k supercar, its a bike and you need to test drive it.

Back to your leg position thing. BRP also has the comfort seat option which moves your riding position back about 2 inches also. As others have stated, highway pegs are an option too along with adjustable handlebars. You should have no difficulty finding a comfortable riding position.

You might also look at the highway pegs Lamont has for the Spyder. I just ordered a set so I can't wait to get them.

As previously stated, the RT Ltd will have floor boards, not pegs. I too have a 29" inseam and find no problem shifting my feet around on the boards to find comfort on my 2013 RT Ltd. Hope the boards work for you because the RT can be a real blast!

:welcome:You're gonna love it! The floorboards will give you some room to dance around a bit, and Lamont's highway pegs will be the icing on the cake! :2thumbs:

I have Lamont's highway pegs on my 2011 RT. Really, really helps. If I get the 2014 (have to ride it first), even with the floorboards I'll be getting highway pegs.

Oh...I'm 5'9".

:welcome: 28" inseam here. Bought my RTS before they came with floorboards. Have seal floorboards on both my :spyder2:'s and they do well.

Much depends on the model you are buying. The base model 2014 RT does not come with floorboards. If this is what you are buying, the Full size Seal RT SE5 DLX Floorboards will fit and you will have both Floorboards and Hwy. extensions built into it. Lots of move around room and great looks. The shorter Pups will also fit fine.

Ride in comfort,
John

I'm 6'6" and ride the 2013 RT-S with the Comfort Seat. Have absolutely no problems with leg comfort. Plenty of room to get adjusted with the floorboards.
