• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Hitch question.

I have a trailer with a 4 pin connection. I bought the hitch and the converter for the Can Am trailer but I can not find an adapter for the 4 pin to the control module. I will get the new trailer next year but want to use my current trailer this year. Any advise would be appreciated.

I brought home my first Spyder last Sat. Pearl White RT LTD. Brand new. Oh man do I enjoy this bike. I've riden Harleys since I was 10, 45 years and never without one. But my sorry old butt was most comfortable on the Spyder and when the dealer gave me a $25,500 out the door price I jumped and will never regret it.

The easiest way is to buy the 2010 RT-622 Tongue Harness or the 2011/2012 RT-622 Pole Harness and use it as a basis for an adapter. You will also need a mating connector for your trailer from a local store if you don't wire directly to your trailer. As an alternative, you can purchase the mating Deutsch connector, pins, rear boot, blank hole plugs, and a special crimping tool and make an adapter.

I went through the same thing a while back, there are quite a few post on the subject, I ended up buying the BRP trailer harness from Spyder to RT-622 trailer (Ordered the BRP 9 Pin Pig Tail 710002029) and cutting the end off. Using an automotive test light to confirm which lead did what and wiring to a 5 pin plug, only used 4 of the pins though.

Here is my thread on the subject some good reading form all those that gave input, once you get the harness if you have any questions you can PM me.

I had to convert my trailer from 5 pin (separate turn signals) to 4 pin combined brake and turn signals. Of course if you live in MA turn signals are totally optional.

Thanks Nancy & Harry

I told myself I would probably have to make one, however, before I did I wanted to ask. Thanks for confirming for me. I was able to find the correct plug at www.wirecare.com and ordered what I needed. Stay tuned to see if it worked. I spoke to our electrical engineer and he agrees with the selection below. Thanks again, Bob

You may also want the blank hole plugs, since you will have some empty sockets and they make things more weatherproof. Silicone works, though. Don't forget the special crimping pliers, unless you have access to some elsewhere. They can be rented from some suppliers.
