There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

You're bottoming out as you say. I'm just saying that once I got the feel for the height of the RT I no longer bottom out in 60,000kms over 3 yrs. Perhaps its time to see the optometrist - again only suggesting..
I get most of my bottom scrapes on steep driveway entrances. My bumps come from parking bumpers and the like. I've also smacked into unavoidable road debris, including lumber.

I only do that once a year! As far as to quality of the prescriptions I just tell them, "Perfection is acceptable!"
All I'm trying to say is that during ordinary everyday driving it is nigh impossible to avoid scraping the underside of the RT. Vision has very little to do with it.
Then is it "attention to the road"? I am trying to understand why others seem to bottom out the front while others don't. I use my Spyder as both my tourer, general transport and work vehicle, the trailer is handy for taking gear to jobs, so it gets a fair few miles too.
I am making the point that after a while, the problem sections of the road surface seem to stand out and I subconsciously avoid them when travelling. I live in a rural area that is a safe seat politically so we don't get the road funding like cities do, and hence the roads in some places are crap. We have larger than normal volume of trucks making their wheel tracks int he road surface, carting coal to the coast.
In some cases I'll ease off the gas for say a causeway/floodway, rail crossing, and use the high points in the road surface to add clearance to the Spyder when travelling. I took a mate as my pillion he weighs about 95 Kgs, he bottomed out a few times, but then took some pointers and that was it. This included dirt roads.
When I first bought the Spyder I did bottom out and originally blamed the RT, but a bit of soul searching made me realize I may not be paying as much attention to the road ahead as I first thought. After a while I just began to notice the imperfections that lay on the road/track ahead and respond accordingly.

I have the TRICLED bumpskid, its black. don't think its acrylic, its UHMW material " ultra high * * " can't think of the name right now, similiar to delrin, less likely to crack

I've got the chin light on my 2020 RTL for visibility, but I'd sure like a Spyderpops style bump skid. Haven't found one yet. Has anyone seen one for the new generation ?
This plandemic has taken a huge toll on mail-order items. Just got a backorder today on one of my BajaRon orders. I have four other orders from other vendors that have been back ordered for 3 months now. How long it will take companies to catch up is anybody's guess.
I have the custom spider works bumper guard, it’s the real deal and his customer service is amazing.

This is true to some degree. However, TX vehicle lighting code prohibits any color other than amber/clear to the front. Red from mid point rearward. Seldom enforced. It is used for probable cause stops if need be.
Now that there is so true of many county roads here in the "Lone Star State."

I had the Spyderpops bumpskid on both my 2014 RT and now my 2017 F3T. Non-lighted on both versions as to me the inherent purpose could actually mean damage to the lights. Plenty of other places for extra lights that are better protected.
Also, the Spyderpops version requires drilling additional holes for additional bolts. I know it's strong as yes, I've hit some parking bumpers with it. According to the directions, the Customsyperworks halo skid utilizes 4 original bolt holes. Not saying that isn't strong enough as I haven't seen one in person, but that would be a concern of mine to check out.
