• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RS seat question

I was at our local dealership today and was checking out the 2012 RS models. I have a 2010 RS SE5 and I noticed that the seat on the 2012 is a much better design then the 2010 I have (I don't know about 2011 because I never seen them).

My question is quit simple. Will the seat off a 2012 RS work on my 2010 RS out of the box, or would I have to do some modifications to make it work?

By the way, I did a search of the forum with the "seat" tag and I cannot tell this question has ever been asked.

probably yes

i don't have anything to base that on other they always have been. i have a 09 seat on my 08. did you sit on the 12 seat? was it more comfortable, or just look better? maybe somebody can supply a pic.

Thanks coz. It is more comfortable and looks different as well. This got me to thinking that it might be the same seat only it now comes with a different skin. I'm just not sure. I was at the dealership today (after I started this thread) and the service manager told me he'd sell me a take off from a 2012 when he gets one. He told me it should just bolt on to my 2010 but he didn't know for sure. I think for now I'll just wait on the take off and see how it works out.

2012 seat

keep us posted on the 2012 seat. some folks will always upgrade , other folks ( like me) will buy their take off seats, if they're comfortable.

Chances are excellent that it would since BRP sells the Comfort Seat as an option for RS/GS models 2008-2012 without change. The Comfort Seat is a full seat replacement not a skin so it stands to reason that any BRP RS/GS seat would fit on any year RS/GS.

I installed a Comfort Seat on my 2011 RS and the installation was simple enough. If you have any concerns just ask a dealer or inspect the hinge mechanism on a 2012 to see if it's the same as yours. I'm almost certain that it is.
