• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just to get an idea of the type of rider you are with the type of Spyder you have. Are you more agressive with the RPM's in the city than others are. Where do you like to keep your Spyders RPM's ???

Nice idea for a question! :2thumbs:
I'm the Olphart whose :spyder: (not ":spyder2:") rarely; if ever even sees 5000 rpm... :opps:

This is me

I am still breaking mine in, but I don't believe I will drive much different after break in. I am just about always under 5000 rpm shift points in city is 3500 to 4000 in the city and 4000 to 4700 on the highway. So am I babying it to much?

Same here, Except the Olphart part, :roflblack:
With the Tri 2 thousand to 25 hundred.
With the 6n don't know the needle flies too fast to watch'.

I think about the only thing that might be torquier than a Hawg is a D-8 Dozer!

WAIT!! Did you insult me??? :roflblack:
Scotty,
I find that I've always driven "By the tach". I watch it more than the Speedo; even though that number is WAY bigger...

I break 9K at least once a ride.

Mostly I keep it around 5.5

Makes it louder and gives some room to power out of a place like Doc said. Yesterday I was at 7k on the slab when a transfer truck tried to pull over on top of me. I rolled it up past 9k to get even with his cab on the shoulder to tell him he was "number 1"

I know with my style of riding that my gas milage suffers alot, but of love the sound above 6k so I take the hit at the pump.

The issue of sound is currently romping around in another thread...
It'd be cheaper to record something cool like an F1 car or bike and run it through an Ipod...
Then the fuelpump stops won't feel like a crime in progress! :shocked:c:thumbup: :roflblack:

I find my RTS works best at or around 5-6 grand . But I know that if I need it the extra RPMs are there.

RPM'S ON RTS/SE5

I have a 2011 RTS/SE5 with about 3,600 miles. I do all my shifting just above 3,200rpm. It is very smooth that way and I also just back off the throttle a little each time. When I am on the highway, I usually run around 4,000-4,500. If I run at 5,000 or above, I am way above the speed limit. I am very comfortable driving this way, plus I enjoy the gas mileage at around 32-35 mpg.

Gee, never thought about it...I am too busy watching out for the rednecks to look at tach...I just ride my ride...wait just a minute, Sir, am I a redneck too?? Hmmm

:spyder2:

(Quoting a famous Redneck)
"If you ever had to haul a bucket of paint to the top of a water tower to defend your sister's honor; you might be a redneck!":roflblack:
